Justice League Movie Confirmed

We all knew it was coming, but now it's official! See who's directing.

With Batman vs. Superman adding more and more characters (in case you haven't heard, Ray Fisher as Cyborg is the latest addition), it's obvious Warner Bros. is taking big steps to establish a whole new DC cinematic universe. Today the studio has confirmed that yes, they're going to create a Justice League movie! Speaking with the Wall Street Journal, WB's president of worldwide production Greg Silverman confirmed that Batman vs. Superman will lead into Justice League. As expected, Zack Snyder (Man of Steel, Watchmen) will direct.

No Caption Provided

No release date has been set and a script is currently in development. The website states it's "unlikely" the movie will come out before 2018. Additionally, they say WB has other DC/Vertigo movies in development that are not connected to Justice League. Shazam, Metal Men, 100 Bullets, and Fables were listed.

As for a potential Wonder Woman movie, there's currently no plans, but WB's executives are "warm" to the idea. Sue Kroll, president of worldwide marketing, added, "with the right script, that could be viable. The world is ready for her."

DC is gonna be too late to the superhero film party. by 2018, Marvel will have the hero movie industry under it's control. DC will have to make numerous phenomenal, I mean PHENOMENAL movies. even so, DC barely does this with their movies and it takes them years to put out just a single one. DC will have to think of something BIG to beat The Avengers and the rest of the Marvel cinematic Universe. I honestly think if they do, they will have a good chance of slightly appealing more to fans in the Adult age range. But they'd have to do a lot.(merchandising, etc.) Disney has Marvel to get money off of, so it'll be cranking out superhero movies until the cast gets fed up. they did it with Hannah Montana, and LOOK at Miley Cyrus. Marvel is a huge money market for Disney. no WAY they will let DC surpass them. unfortunately. DC was made for a more mature audience, and it's sad to say that's what is killing them. for me, I love DC's movies more than I do Marvel's. but it takes them too long to put out a single movie, that Marvel is gonna take over. DC has cartoon Network, as of connection with kids, and that's about it(let me know if there's more), and even those shows are slowly being cancelled. we'll just have to see.

This.

2016 and 2019 are too far away too care right now to be honest

Justice League sequel in 2022 I may not even be alive by that time lol.

1. 2018??? come on son...

2. How can you have NO plans for a Wonder Woman movie??

I'm a huge DC fan, and I don't want to seem like a b*tchy comic book nerd, but this is more disappointing than anything.

I smell desperation. Warner Brothers is just trying to catch up to Marvel, after seeing how well their movie formula is working.

No, this is ridiculous. I thought that since they announced WW would be in Superman/Batman that they at least had an idea, SOME idea as to what her movie was gonna be, but nothing?? No plans at all?? So what the f*ck is she even here for then?? Dammit DC/WB

100 bullets would be better as a series on HBO or the like.

Shazam really? That's kinda cutting it close to Superman territory. I'm surprised.

Not interested in Metal Men movie. Not saying it couldn't be good but I hope they change some things. Honestly all I see is some cheap B comedy. If they're going to do it then they should put serious effort into it. Though I just have a hard time seeing many people being interested. DC has other properties that would be a better draw.

DC obviously has no idea what they're doing. They're literally doing/saying whatever they can to try and catch up to Marvel, but at this point it's just sad. DC doesn't even have faith in a Wonder Woman movie, so little faith in fact that we might get a Metal Men movie before her...that alone is something I find disappointing. If DC doesn't even have faith in their own characters, why should the fans have faith in them to make a good movie?

I don't even know what the hell to think about DC movies anymore. I honestly only have faith in the TV side of things, with Arrow being amazing, Flash hopefully following suit, and Constantine + Gotham looking pretty cool. Now what they really need to do on TV is get a handful of good animated shows. Because, frankly, Marvel is starting to beat them at that, too.

What they should also start doing is making their animated features like a half hour to an hour longer...and release them in theatres. I know I, for one, would TOTALLY be down with seeing an animated DC movie in theatres.

2013 Man of Steel

2014 The Flash, Gotham, Constantine, iZombie

2015 DMZ, Preacher, Hourman

2016 Batman VS Superman, Sandman, 100 Bullets

2017 SHAZAM (with The Rock as Black Adam), Fables, Metal Men

2018 Heaven Sent, FBP,

2019 Justice League

.....maybe

Dude you're wayyyyyy too hopeful with Shazam and Metal Men coming out in 2017. Any other movies DC puts out will be sometime after Justice League. And because those movies will (hopefully...) be part of the DC Cinematic Universe, they will take a back seat to Justice League priority...hopefully...

I highly doubt we'll see an actual Metal Men movie any time soon, but the sole fact that DC is even considering doing a Metal Men movie BEFORE a Wonder Woman movie...that's just down right disrespectful to one of their biggest characters. Ultimately it makes me question if they even have faith in these characters at all.

@war_killer: Also you have to consider if it wasn't for Marvel assembling their Universe they wouldn't of done this until probably 10 years later.Yeah they'd been trying to do this for years but they didn't really get started until they saw the success marvel had. Also MOS didn't do Mind blowing at the box office either.anyways we will definintely see.

Yeah, and that's another reason Marvel is kicking DC's butt in the movie department...because they aren't afraid to take chances. Marvel took a chance with Iron Man and even bigger one with the introduction of Nick Fury and the "Avengers Initiative." They took a chance with Thor and Captain America, but unlike DC Marvel actually had faith in those characters, doing their best to translate them over into live action.

Since seeing how successful Avengers was, Marvel has even more faith in their characters than ever before. So much so that we're literally getting an Ant-Man movie in 2015...an ANT-freakin'-MAN MOVIE!!! Yet DC doesn't even have faith in Wonder Woman, one of their biggest characters.

It's just plain sad when you really start to think about it.

100 bullets and Metal Men planned before Wonder Woman. Something feels whole heartedly wrong here.

Also as for all these other characters for Batman/Superman am I the only one that feels like there will be an end of movie or post credit group cameo and that's it? They're teasing stuff for the movie that I doubt will have any impact on the movie itself.

It's not that WB doesn't have faith and take risks. They released Gravity after all.

It's that they know they can have more faith in releasing certain solos after Justice League (given how IM3 did after Avengers). There's no reason for them not to.

In the meantime, WB can release other films (that won't matter when they're released).
