JUSTICE LEAGUE #16 Spoilers - New Members Added to Roster

Just goes to show why Cyborg is so important. He's the line of communication for the heroes in the DCU. He's the new Oracle--the digital heart of the Justice League.

You can thank him for all of these wonderful new additions.

Just another reason why he should be the Nick Fury of the DC movie-verse. It just makes sense.

So I guess one way or another Shazam is joining the team. Also, seeing Ollie without his beard next to Black Canary seems weird to me. I like my G.A. to have a twirlable mustache.

Don't know how I feel. Zee, Hawkman and Green Arrow fit well. Black Lightning is always interesting. But who the hell is Goldrush?

Okay, they seriously need to to put the ! at the end of Shazam's name?

Seems some of these were pretty randomly picked; neither Shazam or Firestorm are dry behind the ears. Oliver was specifically told to go away, very far away in some cases. And last I checked Batman didn't think Zatanna was fit for field duty.

Other than that: Meh...seems like he's just rounded up the usual 2nd line of defence.

Interesting, they seem to be building towards the larger Justice League from the original DCU but with them all having their own teams to hang out in when not needed. Sure sounds better than a millions heroes hanging about in the Watch Tower waiting for something to happen.

Wish they teased Martian Manhunter :(

I'm thinking this is just a temporary call-to-arms and not a completely new roster. They'll probably all leave by the end of the Throne of Atlantis arc (although I wouldn't mind if some of them stuck around).

He'll no doubt rejoin within the next couple of years once he has reason to be less enigmatic, but right now it wouldn't make sense after the events in Justice League issue 8.

Indeed. Not sure what Jam has been reading - lest it be the ads and not the story. This is the most compelling the JLA has been since Morrison was on duty. And I was BEYOND caustic about the reboot.

Aren't you forgetting Waid's and Kelly's awesome runs? They put Johns in this place very easily despite this being the best he's done on JL so far.

Yeah I think Throne of Atlantis has been very cohesive and fluid from one book to the next. Some might disagree but I think that it's great that you need to read all the titles to see what's happening here.

I think this will have a LOT to do with Trinity War and the events of the JLA book...I'm sure Cyborg intends for this to be a temporary affair, but perhaps bringing all these heroes together, saving the day, and then telling them they have to go will trigger a response in the form of a desire to create competing teams...this book is getting seriously good. Can't wait for the rest of this year to unfold!

Black Canary's an odd choice, being that she's already on a team and wanted/guilty for murdering her husband or something.

Hawkman was set up a bit for this when he bonded with Green Arrow, who as you said was approached by Steve Trevor.

Element Woman's a wild card, only established since Flashpoint; ditto for Goldrush who's even newer.

Black Lightning we've only just seen in the New 52 with no affiliations, and Firestorm was met by the JLI.

I REALLLY hate characters on more than one team. Green Arrow and Hawkman should ether be JLA or Justice League not both, Zatanna should be on JLD or the Justice League not both.

And the traitor in all these candidates is.....(drums) Goldrush or Elemental Woman!!

But seriously I think they are the only ones that can be the traitor in the team that was mentioned in one of the issues resuming what can we expect of this years Justice League because I remember a panel where someone said that they let in a traitor when they expanded the team so yeah Goldrush or Elemental Woman. And I´m only saying "traitor" in the villain plan term not "traitor" as in someone being an agent of the goverment reporting and blah blah blah hell maybe one of these guys is Martian Manhunter in disguise you know with him you can never know hell maybe Martian Manhunter is GoldRush haha that would be very troubling. And more now that they are planning to make him the ultimate spy.

Wow, I thought Shazam was the only one joining. Oh well desperate times call for desperate measures.

@Lvenger: I can't recall them - truthfully. Bi-product probably of having so many read after this long. I do remember enjoying the Obsidian Age and the reboot by Meltzer and Benes with the Turner covers.

Add Martian Manhunter and that looks like a perfect superhuman army to me! Would be nice to see Nightwing, Starfire, the Atom, and maybe even John Stewart too on the reserves.

I'm OKAY with the fact they changed Captain Marvel to Shazam, but it seeing it spelled "SHAZAM!" outside of a title and IN the actual book is a little much.

I just hope he's a little better in this than he is in the backups on Justice League. Seriously I NEARLY dropped the book all together because Billy Batson kept coming off as too much of an easily swayed jerky tween. I've decided that since I read this far I'll continue but I just hope he's more like classic Billy Batson in this AND in his own book if he ever gets one.

That's cool. Although Shazam is like a Justice league of his own anyway he's that awesome!

Uh that doesnt make much sense, since both justice league and the shazam back-up are being written by the same guy, so i dont see how there could be a different characterization

Zatanna is a member of Justice League Dark, Vixen was a member of Justice League International, Black Canary is in Birds of Prey, and Black Lightning was just featured in DC Universe Presents along with Blue Devil. So this is only the New 52 introduction of Element Woman and Goldrush (whoever that is)

So GA and Hawkman are going to be double agents? (JLA).

I thought Green Arrow and Hawkman was joining JLA. Also isn't Zatanna in JLD.
