Jason Momoa Allegedly Cast as Aquaman

I'm not happy about this choice (or most of the casting choices to be honest). It seems they're trying too hard to make Aquaman look tough. Aquaman has a calm and cool demeanor, he's stoic. He knows he doesn't have to prove how tough he is and people underestimate him. Having Aquaman look like this, kind of just throws that out the window.

One one hand: ugh, another hero in this movie to set up Justice League?

On the other hand: Yay, Aquaman!

Aside from 3 (I think Atlantis should be tech and magic working together, like in Young Justice) I totally agree.

I feel like they're overcrowding this movie, ugh. I hope the script makes up for it.

Not feeling the casting's of this rushed film. It seems DC's desperate to catch up with Marvel so instead of taking their time they're trying to shoehorn way too many characters into MoS sequel.

The report said a cameo. I hardly see how putting in a cameo is overcrowding. Especially when they said Cyborg's role is the same thing.

No need to make him have blonde hair. Let him keep natural warrior look and roll with it. Put a trident in his hand and let him keep his telepathy( sharks are a must, people love the shark attacks) and it should be great. I'm going remain optimistic about this situation because optimism is why has gotten comic book movies to the point they are today. You have to push forward and be bold with your creativity to make something like a n Avengers movie or a Dark knight movie. Good writing is a must though.

I understand that these are cameos, but how many cameos can you fit in one movie without it feeling forced?

I think you'd be surprised. Many cameos roles don't even speak a line.

For all we know, Cyborg is just going to be a student with a Victor name tag talking a walk through LexCorp on a tour.

Look at what Wolverine did in First Class lol. It was 2 seconds, one line and was one of the best parts of the movie, yet it had nothing to do with plot and wasn't necessary at all.

Every movie has a ton of characters.

We have no idea what this script is. So far, there are fewer characters than in the first movie.

Haven't seen much of Jason Momoa's work but at least Aquaman is going to be in a live-action movie and I don't mind if Aquaman's role in the movie is a cameo.

Jason Momoa is awesome! I think he would make an awesome Aquaman and help make Aquaman's reputation to the general public much better... but I think he could play many other characters much better! (Lobo, Black Adam, Darkseid, mostly villains). Maybe even Martian Manhunter.

Sometimes things like this have a small affect on comic book characters

He is a pretty terrible actor. He plays the same type of character in everything and I think like all his other roles he will be very forgettable as Aquaman.

Honestly I think he would make an even better Namor....

Josh Horowitz is gonna punch Jason Mamoa in the face because of this.

People have complained a lot of Gal Gadot playing Wonder Woman because she hasn't got the amazonian body type. This man does not look anything like Aquaman, just like Grant gustin is nothing alike to Flash. and no-one says a damn thing.

Sounds good to me. Probably won't be blond, but that's okay.

Oh damn, he'd be awesome in pretty much any of those roles.

@flameboy298: why does it make sense? his acting range is grunt man. he cant act and he's going to have to give speeches as a king and a respected member of the league, especially because he is considered the lamest hero by the general public in the league.

Can't we just sit back and go "Holy crap!!! Aquaman is going to be on the big screen!!!!"? It's great news. People need to not worry so much about the look. If you're just picturing the guy from Game of Thrones, of course he doesn't look right. I'm not saying he's going to be good or bad, but I'm at least willing to give it a shot. I've been wrong so many times about casting I don't even think about it any more. Hell, I was against Stephen Amell being Ollie, boy was I wrong.

2. Please GOD no more! This movie is beginning to sound like a very very f*cking rushed Superman movie like seriously..Stop putting so many heroes in the movie, all you need to put in is The Flash and Boom JLA movie.

3.I hope that they don't actually show them as Superheroes, but them as Civilians BEFORE they got their powers.

Damn, cuz I was actually thinking last night that I had figured out who he was playing and it was a character few people were talking about, I came to the conclusion that Momoa was going to play Vandal Savage. He has exactly the build and the look for the character.

Damn,this is a nice casting! Momoa totally would pull it off as a bearder Arthur and I would love it but the only problem I have is with the acting abilities of Momoa.

I'll definitely take him over Matt Damon.
