Was Parralax able to halt THE SIEGE? Who came out with the belt in the reborn Cap/ Dynamic Duo grudge match? Take my hand, read on and you shall discover...

Today, Diamond released its list of the highest-selling 100 issues for this past January. Marvel continues to hold the retain the largest percentage, but how do the individual titles rank? Who came in at which number? That’s the fun part. Who gets gold, silver and bronze in the horse race? So let’s gather ‘round Time’s Square and watch that big, silver disco ball descend above us as we count down…
THE TOP FIVE COMICS OF JANUARY 2010!

5: NEW AVENGERS #61

4: CAPTAIN AMERICA: REBORN #6

3: BATMAN & ROBIN #7

2: GREEN LANTERN #50

1: SIEGE #1
And there you have it. If you’d like to burrow further into the rabbit hole and see the entire top 100 for yourself, by all means, check out the full list at Diamond’s website. There are some surprises in the rankings, to be sure.
Interestingly, Diamond uses Batman, which came in at #12, as the control for its sales index, since the title’s sales have been stable month in, month out. You know, once again, I can’t help but see the endorsement potential here. Yesterday, I suggested that Marvel should license Captain America’s face for protein shakes (Picture it - - your own powdered super-solider serum!) and now, learning this, I can’t help but see Bats in my mind’s eye, driving a Chevy through the rugged wilderness, because his title’s… like a rock!
