Invincible Iron Man #25 Shows A Slick New Armor

That's some shiny stuff!

Invincible Iron Man has been a great read from the beginning. I've been surprised month after month since I was on the "I Hate Tony Stark" bandwagon when the series started. Sure he started coming around during Secret Invasion but we still have all the shenanigans he pulled during Civil War. Matt Fraction has been doing a great job in making Iron Man likable once again.

We've seen Stark become "Disassembled" in trying to keep his tech from falling completely into Norman's hands. We know that there will be a new Iron Man armor in issue #25 but check out the new "trade dress" for the issue as seen at Marvel.com

The trade dress was designed by Rian Hughes and features Salvador Larroca's art.

"The concept here was to show the 'reassembled' Iron Man," explains Hughes. "So we have a gleaming, Stark Industries showroom-fresh Iron Man, all reflective curves and gorgeous chrome, evoking some kind of high-end supercar brochure from Porsche or Ferrari."

Issue #25 will be on sale April 28 with the next arc, "Stark: Resilient."

Sweeeeeeeeeet.

Take away the shoulder pads, add some more LED's... Unnecessary change I think.

I still am on the I hate Tony Stark band wagon. After the Civil War Garbage I don't think he will have anything I consider redeamable. At least I havent seen anything yet.

Simply stunning. Appropriately great for one of the best Marvel books out there.

There's no explanation for the extra blue lights. But there should be. THERE SHOULD BE.

Best part :"HAMMER GIRLS". that is awesome!!!

That is a really awesome cover.  I agree that the Invincible Iron Man series has been great since it started.  I was kind of expecting some stale parts during the issues, but have not really run into one yet.  The writing has been rather good.

Waiting for the compendium hardcover in march? of the first 24 issues of so, but from what i hear its a great read.
My name is Deadeyeduck, and I'm a Stark apologist.

The Extremis armor was the best design. It was the most powerful and the most sleek. This looks cool though.

I didnt like the armour at first then one day I looked at it and though, WOW it actually looks great.  I stille the suit he has now, and my favorite pic of it is Silverstri's Cival War cover with Iron Man holding a pola and flag with Cap shield.  The facemask is a little slimmer then normally drawn and it looks so much better that way.  Gotta go find that pic.

Looks good but reminds me of the armor from the movie. Seems like they copied it and changed it around a bit.

I cannot wait to see the new and improved iron man meat some good ole cap...i hope for a full on punch to the nose on stark and then a good clean handshake

Maybe they're blacklights so he can look over hotel rooms before he sleeps in them... in his armor.

"CAP WAS RIGHT" - not just a slogan, but words to live by & Secret Invasion & Dark Reign Proveds it....lol

Up until Civil War Iron Man (Stark) was one of my favorite Comic Characters.  I feel his character was mishandled since the begin of Civil War, even choosing the side he did I just don't like how his POV was handled.  I started liking the character again some during "Tony Stark - Disassembled".

Tony/Iron Man is the charcter toy companies should love, new models/armor every so often as he modifies & upgrades his suit....I like this new one, but the MOvie Suit is still my favorite

Is Invinicible Iron Man worth picking up? Since Dark X-Men is ending next month I was thinking of picking up Iron Man to replace it.

Fraction's run has been fantastic. I'd recommend it.

Love this suit, I had almost totally given up on Ironman. There was no need to  "Disassemble" Tony it was just another bad idea from a long line of bad ideas from Marvel.

Hopefully the suit, character and story picks up where Extremis left off

@Meteorite: Yes, start reading Invincible Iron Man!

looks good. looks even better in some action shots ive seen when the arc reactor lights arent made prominent
by shadow. ive enjoyed the whole story of Tony on the run as its shown he can be just as resilient without all of
the money and power (especially in the Whiplash mini when he makes an armor from scratch while locked up),
but it will be nice to see him playing in the big leagues again. surprised you didnt post a picture of Rescue, aka
Iron Pepper in this post as well considering her upcoming prominent role (and cool armor as well).

So which Mark would this be?

Considering Extremis was Model 30, this might be Model 31
Kinda lost track of the Marks after Mark VIII (the one after Silver Centurion)
I like this one, gives off a sleek sportscar feel, unlike the Extremis that kinda looks "technologically advanced"

616  seems to be fusing with the ultimate universe, i mean lets compare

then we have the ultimate version

same goes for thor

new thor

Ultimate version

Now that you mention it, it does take some elements from Ultimate, like the lights thing, but overall it looks smoother than the Ultimate's "mecha" feel.

whats up with the light circles on thor anyways? and in the ultimates is he really a god or do thoes light cells on his chest give him the powers he has?

Probably just for show, he is supposedly stronger than 616 Thor, but with less diverse powers.

Hate the new armor. Having the undersheath in your body is one thing, but the whole suit.
I'll check out the Ultimate Ironman version until he gets a new suit, that's not apart of his body.
