Image Comes Clean With The Guardians Of The Globe Teasers

Now we're starting to get some answers.

We've been seeing some...interesting bits of news from Image Comics this week. In August, we will see the Guardians of the Globe. The first character "revealed" to be a member was Robert Kirkman's Invincible. That made sense. Then we saw others including Spawn, Rick Grimes of WALKING DEAD, the President and even Harry Potter. Image has released the following image:

Image has also provided us with a little more information. This will be a spin-off from Invincible (as many assumed). Invincible is fighting the Viltrumite War and there's no one to "watch the shop" while he's away. GUARDIANS OF THE GLOBE will be a six-issue miniseries that coincides with the Viltrumite War and tell Earth's story.
 
Guardians of the Globe will be written by Kirkman along with Benito Cereno (Invincible Presents: Atom Eve, Invincible Presents: Atom Eve & Rex Splode) and drawn by newcomer Ransom Getty.

"Needless to say, Invincible, Spawn, Rick Grimes, President Obama, and a certain boy wizard aren't GUARDIANS OF THE GLOBE," jokes Robert Kirkman. "The teasers released this week have been all in fun, but next week's teasers will get down to business, revealing who's a Guardian. Invincible's absence due to the Viltrumite War has left people vulnerable, and GUARDIANS OF THE GLOBE will answer the question, 'What's up on Earth?'"

Guardians Of The Globe will begin in August 2010. We can expect more teasers next week.

@aztek the lost: they got mine too az, stumbled onto it when i saw Invincible on an "I'm and avengers" promo.....turns out it was a guardian of the globe promo and the rest is history :)

Ive loved the adds. Great bit of fun and i'm glad they only went as far as they did. They've all been pretty good but i'm really keen to see the actual GotG. :)

Ha ha literally just said the joke is over they shouldn't do anymore, and it seems like they heard ha ha. Well the add compaign worked for sure (even though i think they took it 2 to far and it became no longer funny) but it worked! cant deny that! ha ha
