Ian Churchill Variant Cover for GREEN LANTERN #7 Revealed

"The Secret of the Indigo Tribe" will soon be upon us.

Having variant covers isn't a new idea. They're starting to become more and more impressive each month. In many cases, it's a great way to see another hot artist's interpretation of the characters. In some cases, they can actually be a little more interesting than the regular cover.

Today, DC has revealed the variant cover to GREEN LANTERN #7 by Ian Churchill. It is pretty impressive.

Issue 7 kicks off the next arc, "The Secret of the Indigo Tribe." Hal and Sinestro have to work together (again) and travel to the Indigo homeworld to "uncover the truths behind a heinous crime."

Ian Churchill explains how he came up with this cover:

The GREEN LANTERN editor, Brian Cunningham, asked for a cover involving the character Indigo-1 and to have the two Green Lanterns completely defeated! I came up with a few thumbnails and Brian preferred this one because he said he liked the way it reversed the clichéd view of the male on the throne flanked by females.

If that wasn't enough, check out the penciled version as well.

GREEN LANTERN #7 is on sale March 14. It's written by Geoff Johns with art by Doug Mahnke and Christian Alamy. Here's the regular cover (by Mahnke) as well as the official solicit for the issue. This is going to be another great arc.
