The Wolverine news floodgates are opening, and we've learned quite a bit about the movie the past few weeks, which won't release until July 26, 2013. In a recent interview with Parade, Hugh Jackman let a bit more information out about the highly anticipated upcoming film.
As you may know, The Wolverine takes place in Japan, but lots of people were questioning where in the X-Men movie timeline it will take place. We now have a definitive answer:
The movie takes place after X-Men: The Last Stand. My character is at his lowest. He is supposed to be able to heal himself, but he may encounter someone who has worked out a way to really hurt him.
So, The Wolverine takes place after X-Men: The Last Stand. He dealt with a lot of pain and heartache in X3, especially with Jean, so he's gone through a lot, but who is this character who has a way to hurt him?
Jackman also revealed one other thing in the interview:
there is a cameo from one of the past X-Men in it.
Could this be Jean Grey? It was rumored a couple months ago that Famke Janssen was in Australia to do a cameo as Jean Grey. Looks like we'll have to wait and see for The Wolverine to be released July 26, 2013.
What do you guys think of the news? What X-Men character would you like to see cameo in this film?
