Huge BATMAN INC #8 Spoilers Officially Released

The events of this issue are sure to have a huge impact on Batman. Don't proceed if you don't want spoilers!

Proper spoiler etiquette is apparently a rare quality nowadays..

Grant Morrison has promised that BATMAN INC #8 will be a huge issue for Batman and Damian. We've all speculated over what would happen, but today -- 2 days before the issue's release -- the NY Post released a preview and interview with the writer which reveals what is apparently its biggest moment. Having that information buried in the article itself wouldn't be be a big deal -- especially with a spoiler warning -- but it's not. You don't even need to look beyond the headline to have the full impact of the issue taken away from you. I guess this could be used to lure in non-comic readers to buy the issue, but I can't help but feel as though that's just blatantly disregarding the current comic fans and they could have easily reworked the headline to make it still seem like a huge issue without flat-out saying the specific spoiler.

No Caption Provided

If you really want to know what happens, then click the following spoiler box or the link below.

== TEASER ==

Morrison tells the site, "He saves the world. he does his job as Robin. He dies an absolute hero." It appears Damian will die fighting his cloned "brother," the Heretic. You know, the huge dude that obliterated Batman.

Again, the NY Post article has the spoiler in it's headline, so don't click it if you don't want to know! If you do discuss this below, please make proper use of spoiler tabs. This is something we've all speculated and assumed. Now it's been confirmed.

@JamesKM716: Snyder has some role for Harper Row in the New 52. I agree she wouldn't make a good Robin based on her lack of physical prowess but I'd take her over boring Stephanie Brown any day. Plus with her computer and electronic skills, I see her as a potential New 52 Oracle (not the cosmic one in Superman though)

I hope it's not true but if anyone were to perform said spoiler, I'd trust Morrison to do it over any other writer

@sheldipez: Fair point. Although I don't like the idea of him dying I think it should be a while, as there are too many comic deaths that are changed soon. Look at Jason he was dead for years and that really help his character development.

If you read the solicitude of B&R, then you already knew this was going to happen. Now I want to see what Jason will tell Bruce about this.

@johnkmccubbin91: With DC sending press releases out saying that "Look here. We're killing Robin off" I dont think they'd bring him back in a few month, even by comics standards thats hardly long enough to get used to the fact. Give it a year at least and the little fella will be back from the dead.

@sheldipez: But what happens if he's not fully dead. There are still 3 or 4 issues after this one and Batman's going to have his morality tested. I think that he will be toying whether to pay the ultimate price to bring Damian back from the dead. Just my thought. Plus I don't want to believe that he's going to die, or at least on a permanent basis.

If he dies. I personally don't see it happening. If it does I won't be happy as he's not been around long. If they're going to kill of a member of the Bat-Family I'd say Dick. Although I like him, and his series I think the others are more deserving of life. Damian's not been around long, Jason already died, Barbara came back as Batgirl recently (in comic terms), and Tim is leading the Titans (plus he's my favourite Robin so I wouldn't want him to die).

Plus also I'd have different views on Morrison if he does this as I loved him introducing Damian to the comic world, and would hate if he rook him away, especially so soon.

I feel a bit sorry for Snyder. Two weeks after DotF and we get this. All that drama and speculation about who will die, and then Morrison comes in from the sideline and takes the ball.

I don't understand why DC would do this? What could possibly be gained by taking away Damian? I feel as if he finally was hitting a stride and was becoming the #2 Robin in everyone's hearts...sorry Tim. Now your telling me he is going to be killed by someone no one will ever remember. In what world does that make sense? I feel like Grant is doing this just for the hell of it and DC is going along with it to sell more books. We already have one extremely damaged former dead Robin. Why do we need to see Damian go all deranged... There is so much this character can offer for the future...I mean was he not on pace to get his on Robin series or even a possible 616 verse book when he plays batman? I mean after the Batman and Robin Annual #1 how could this happen...only comic books can a star be killed...ahhh hopefully this is all just a bad dream

First of all, way to go NY Post. What a bunch of dirtbags. And DC, shame on you for allowing this leak.

Anyways, I know people are going to be upset about this, but consider that Damian was originally going to die in "Batman & Son," way back in 2006. Instead of killing him off, Grant allowed him to grow for the next 6 years of story. And if anyone is going to bring Damian to an end, Grant Morrison should be the one. I know his writing is more polarizing to the Comicvine community than on other sites, but I recently sat down and began reading through everything from "Batman & Son" up to now, and it has been a very rewarding re-read.

What I find entertaining is that many of the people that don't want him to die are the same ones that hated the character and wanted him out of Batman continuity before Final Crisis. That's the power of great storytelling, not only from Morrison but also Tomasi.

Meh. He dies and sells his soul to the devil. Let it rip! Cant wait for damian to take the mantle. I love this dude but even if he "dies", really? Damian dead in the comic books? I don't think so. especially when most people just love him too much. One of the great things in the New52 is Batman and everything related to him. And im not even a New52 fan

With Damian's death ends a creative era of Batman it's clear that no one really wants this character to progress and change. It doesn't seem to matter that Batman is a character who has grown because of the changes made through the years it seems to be that no one even wants a Batman different from the eighties. Though if anyone was going to do it I am glad it was Morrison. Not looking forward to what comes after Inc. since the Batman books seem a little bland. Do not really like Harper Row and would not like it if she became the new Robin. There seems to be repercussions for the DC Universe I wonder if Trinity War is Batman trying to rewrite the timeline to save Damian. After losing both parents and his son Bruce should not really recover from this.

also^ I think this is an accurate guess

If you listen to the latest Fat Man on Batman podcast by Kevin Smith, you'll know that Morrison had this fate planned for the end of Batman and son. However the character spoke to him so he ended up writing more stories. Also, do spoilers really matter that much? Researchers say that it may even increase enjoyment. I still don't buy it. Batman RIP didn't kill Batman, so I don't see Robin RIP being the end of Robin. And Morrison really doesn't seem like the kind of guy who would give away the plot twists of his series in order to please DC corporate. Especially when you figure in a clone, and the Lazarus pits the assassin's are known for, there are a million ways in which this could be misdirection.

Exactly. They just want to build up the buzz around the issue. Just like the Superman/Wonder Woman thing. Whether Damian survives or not is still to be determined since...

THE ISSUE ISN'T OUT YET.

And also

I'm real disappointed about this,

I know Morrison kinda reinvented Damian and what not but Tomasi has been absolutely killing it on Batman and Robin for the past year and a half or so, I think that should count for something ya know... Although Mbecks14 does make a good point, but based on how this is being sold it kinda seems like it's final (for now). And this is such a big deal for Batman (even bigger then the court of owls/Death in and of the family) like if there was ever a big event for the Bat family it's a ten year old Robin being killed, this should have major repercussions in all of the bat books for the next few months, but I've a feeling it'll be forgotten about by everyone come April

Plus I think it's a bit of a dick move to have this happen like 2 weeks after Death Of The Family.....

I just really want Batman Inc. to be in pre new 52 continuity or something, I've always thought it doesn't fit with the rest of the new 52, plus most of the pre 52 stories just don't make any sense anymore :/
