"House of M: Masters of Evil" #1 of 4 Reviewed!

Do we really need another "House of M" mini-series?

I think the sub-title says it all. With Marvel releasing up to 30 some odd books each Wednesday, and with their major ongoing story arc ( Dark Reign) crossing into almost every single individual character title in the Marvel Universe; it can be hard at times to sift through the stories in order to differentiate the necessary books from those that can be saved for a later date. This is exactly the issue I initially had with this book. With so many comics to read, do I really need to delve into a mini series that references an event ( House Of M) that occurred almost three years ago? " House of M: Masters of Evil #1 of 4" proves that while the concept of the story may be irrelevant with what is happening in the rest of the Marvel Universe; it does not mean it should be traded in for a title in main stream continuity. This is a great book that fans of "House of M" will enjoy.

what you kinda forgot was there are people like me who don't want to read an ongoing series. i prefer limited series its the idea of getting a local story where you don't need to know everything about everyone.

Hey Babs,

It's rare for Crossbones to appear in comics and when he does, I try my best to pick it up...Does he play a significant role here or does he get minimal time in the issue?

Arrgh! Babs!

I thought this was meant to be a review on HoM: Masters of Evil? Not half rant on your dissatisfaction on the amount of books Marvel are pushing out and half a review!

I just wanted a review on the book!

Phew!

That being said you did give it a mark at the end which I thought was fair. So I'll let you off just this once!

I have to wonder what the hell goes through Quesada's mind when he does this kind of thing. This story is so old no one cares about House of M anymore. Marvel needs to get their act together.

Marvel has way to many comics going out at the moment and most of them aren't needed like Dark Reign Hawkeye, Dark Wolverine, House of M Masters of Evil, Savage She-Hulk and many more. Plus there are way to many big events going on at the moment like Dark Reign, War of King (just finisned) and the up coming World War Hulks stuff they should just stick with on big event every two or three years years and little events in a few comics like Old Man Logan, American Son and Plant Skaar so that readers don't have to by twenty issues to find out what will happen. Marvel take not and look back at the 60's, 70's, 80's and may be the 90's when things were simple. (my spelling isn't great)

I don't usually agree with your reviews, but this one was SPOT ON. It was like you were saying my exact thoughts on the book.

Did anyone else have a problem with the volume on this video? I had to turn my speakers up quite high to hear her?

I really enjoy the premise here since the original House of M spent so much time on what the heroes were doing in this alternate world. It's quite interesting to see how the villains' lives were changed. This just comes far, far too late. This was even before Civil War and Secret Invasion. This idea should of been done at least within the same year as the original arc.. I find it hard to believe that no one in the Marvel writing teams thought about a villains book as well.
This almost feels to me like a project that possibly had been in the works years ago, but got caught up in some kind of red tape. It just feels like a wrong time while Dark Reign is in such high gear.

That's what I think too, but there's nothing wrong with that! It's still a good read. "
Agreed but I doubt I'll pick up the 2nd issue.

I'm really enjoying these House of M mini series, they always give you just enough so that you never get bored of it. My personal favorite so far has been
"House of M: Civil War" it shows how Magneto lead the mutants become the rulers of that universe, its a good place to start for anyone looking to get in these mini series. As for this series, i'm still not that big a fan of "The Hood" and that maybe what causing me not to truly enjoy this book. I will definitely pick up issue #2 since many of Marvel's villains have interesting powers, this book will be a great opportunity to show what they can really do.

Hmm! Who did I see in there? Sandman, Diablo, Absorbing Man, The Wrecking Crew, Wizard, Mr. Hyde, Constrictor, and Blizzard. Does anyone know the others?
