Great marketing strategy. Marvel truly can push lesser known characters into the mainstream eye, bravo Marvel.

Hopefully Defenders will get this kind of love but in the meantime go Guardians !!

I'll be checking out that animated series for sure. But I still can't help but wonder how much of this is possible because Disney owns Marvel now? O.o

And here I thought I couldn't possibly be more excited for this movie than I already am. August 1st can't come soon enough.

Glad to see my Rocket Raccoon series one issue 2 will be going up in value. Bought it for a dollar at a garage sale, and it already went up from fifteen dollars to twenty dollars. I was thinking this might be the peak of rocket's popularity, but now it seems I should wait a few years.

The animated series is gonna suck just like all the other ones.

Oh god... this TV show is going to be just like Avengers Assemble where it pretty much takes place in the Movie Universe... has terrible jokes... and it's going to keep referencing the movie every five minutes...

If this show is in anyway linked to the ultimate Spider-Man/ agents of smash/ avengers assemble universe then I'm not going anywhere near this. Also if Jeph Loeb has anything to do with the show I'm also done, I'm so sick of the guy destroying cartoons and then arguing that older comic readers shouldn't be watching them because there meant for kids...

See Earth's Mightiest Heroes had a Guardians team that could have been pretty cool for a TV Show. We didn't learn much about them and there was a sense of mystery to them.

With this team I feel like they're not going to do anything interesting, new or relevant with the characters. For all I know Gamora and Drax will be fighting over who gets the Oatmeal cookie... and you just know they're going to use Galactus again... like the other three series have already.

I'm going to cry. Too much goodness in one day. I need to pace myself.

Well, I was pretty excited until I heard this was coming to Disney XD.

Considering how unfaithful Ultimate Spider-man is and whatever Hulk: and the Agents of SMASH is... I don't have much faith in the animated series.

The movie on the other hand is getting rave reviews everywhere. Metacritic is the only place I've seen where it was rated at 80 or below.

@hortondrawsawho: For example. Ultimate Spider-Man. What have they done for the character that's actually kinda cool and new? ...nothing. Avengers Assemble? ...the Falcon's on the team? Hulk and the Agents of... "sigh" SMASH? They made the Leader an idiot who's watched too many cartoons designed for 3 year olds. He has a team called the Agents of CRASH... goddamn it.

Yet Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroe's was so well done that marvel canned it ,I'll give a GOTG cartoon a try but if its bad i won't watch it.

its almost guaranteed it will be only for children. ill be disapointed when i see this show but i will watch it if its at least as good as ultimate spiderman.

We'll these shows also put in characters that aren't exactly well known to non-comic book fans, plus they're targeted at kids.

@feartheliving: You mean... an alternate version of SPIDER-MAN... and HAWKEYE. It doesn't really matter if they're alternate versions of a character. They're still related to characters who are getting movies pretty soon.

I'm down with the art

I haven't been a fan of Marvel Animation for a while. Not saying this show is going to be bad but I am immediately skeptical. Their shows just aren't my cup of tea.

It would be cool if the sequel or cartoon brought in Phyla Vell, or moondragon, or Mantis. You know the other female guardians?

I want this to be good, but with Jeph Loeb and his belief that "kids aren't smart enough to appreciate quality storytelling", I doubt it.

I severely doubt the guardians show will be good… but because I am Groot fanatic, I will watch at least the first five episodes (Evolution of a show y'all)

I hope everyone realizes Marvel/Disney animated shows are not created or marketed for current comic readers. They are for the 5-10 year olds. Guess what? That's perfectly fine. They are meant as an introduction to these characters, which is good because comics for this age group are pretty much non-existent at this point.

Avengers: EMH is the best animated series to come out of Marvel Animation since the X-Men and Spider-Man TV Series in the 90s (Spectacular Spider-Man and Wolverine and the X-Men were also good, but sadly they were cancelled before their time). Avengers Assemble won't come anywhere near that.

With that being said, the GotG episodes of USM and AA were great and I'm looking forward to this spin-off. I very much dislike the fact that I've enjoyed watching Assemble, but there are some really good parts of the series (same with USM). They aren't the train wreck I expected them to be, but they aren't the best of the best either.

Let's hope that GotG can prove to be better than the other two series out currently (haven't watched SMASH yet)

Thats no excuse Teen Titans, Avatar, Batman Brave and The Bold, and Scooby doo MI were for kids and they never talked down to the audience

If the current crop of Marvel Animated series is any indication I'm going to hate it.

Dude, those animated shows are for kids. If you want higher quality media then read the actual comics or watch the movies.

Exactly. I hate when people bring up the excuse that they are made for kids.

Given their recent track record this show might be sh!t.
