About time we have a world's finest series !

I actually liked what I read of the old Superman/Batman comic so this could be a good read if they keep that fun atmosphere.

Jeph Loeb's Superman/Batman was fantastic and Greg Pak's Planet Hulk was even better so yes, this has me sold straight away.

Nit-pick: I thought they first met at the end of JL#1. They made it pretty clear at the time.

Why not another Trinity comic?

DC comics just loves finding new ways to take money from my wallet.

um, no, that's not what it's saying. the in the past part yeah, I get that. But It said it will 'reveal the first encounter' between them, to 'reveal' something means to show something that we haven't seen before, and it's referring specifically to them meeting. Which we've already seen.

You do realize that Gregg could be wrong about it "revealing the first encounter, right?" On the other hand, this could reveal their first encounter. That is, their first encounter outside of the Justice League, where it was just the two of them. Maybe this book takes place after the JL Origin arc and it goes into the first time that Superman and Batman worked together without the other League members and how they first established their famous bromance.

I've been waiting for this. Looking forward to seeing clarifications on the past of the New52.

As for Jae Lee on art...sry but I think it's a waste, he has already proved he does wonders on a Dark book like Phantom Stranger.

Well, I mean, its not as if they haven't been putting any energy at all into the C and D-listers either. I mean, when they could have launched a Martian Manhunter title in tandem with JLA, they instead chose to go with Katana and Vibe, both of which they've been promoting pretty heavily. Animal Man and Swamp Thing are still going strong. I, Vampire was around from the beginning of the New 52, and honestly, I'm surprised it lasted as long as it did. Same thing with Captain Atom, which was around for a full year. They also still have Phantom Stranger, Dial H, Justice League Dark, Stormwatch, and All Star Western, none of which really star A-list DC players.

So, there is still a spotlight for minor characters, but of course they rely mostly on their big hitters for sales: Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, GL, Flash....you get where I'm going. Its the same thing over at Marvel. How many Avengers books are there? Spider-Man related books? X-Men books? And of course that includes everyone's favorite feral beast, Wolverine.

Four more new books left to be announced.

I just added JLA to my pull... And now this comes out. Wallet might be taking a hit this summer.

Yeah, at this rate there will be over 20 Bat books by the end of next year just in the new 52 (that's not even counting the 5 or so non-New 52 Bat titles). It's become pretty tedious.

I don't honestly have a problem with the characters, but the series is absolute rubbish. The artwork is wildly inconsistent, the pacing is incredibly awkward, the story keeps spinning its wheels and abandoning plotlines with whiplash; it's bad. And we're not alone in thinking so, this series so rarely gets any positive reviews anymore already. I'd be fine if there was a good Huntress and Power Girl book, but this one just sucks.

All of you complaining about your wallet, your title is probably cancelled, so you can just swap this for FIRESTORM WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

The Batman/Superman combo makes me want to get it

DC is really too dependent upon the Bat Family to sell books.

Not your typical creative group and nice to see a different approach will definitely be picking it up.

However, there are other Bat titles that are just plain suffering in lack of creative identity or storytelling:

Batman the Dark Knight --- Legends of the Dark Knight --- Batman Incorporated

Batman/Superman looks to be a return to the DC that takes chances and pushes creative boundaries giving us a new approach to these characters -- Much like the Vertigo titles did at one time -- That's a return to something I can get behind. Take Chances!

Hey here's an idea DC, how about something new that's not Batman related for once

@Zeeguy91: Well the difference is that DC appears to just put out the books like Animal Man and Swamp Thing and then just sits back to see if they will take off or not on their own. They don't appear to actively help these books reach more readers, where as JLA and it's two accompanying titles Vibe and Katana has gotten a massive boost through the promotions they've gotten.

It's Primmaster. He wont be happy until Batman is erased from history and DC is renamed "Superman Comics".

And this is good news. Maybe we'll get a well-written Superman by someone other than Morrison.
