Greg Capullo on the Future of BATMAN

Have you wondered how long the creative team will remain on the title?

It's no secret we really like Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo's BATMAN. As the New 52 titles approach the two and half year mark, we're seeing less and less titles with the original creative team (in any form) from those first issues. Just last week we heard about the end of TEEN TITANS and Kyle Higgins leaving NIGHTWING.

With each issue issue, you can't help but wonder and fear, how long will Snyder and Capullo remain on the title. Capullo tweeted the following today to give some insight on this:

Looks like we can relax for a bit. Bravo to those that managed to chain Snyder, Capullo and the rest to their desks. Who knows what we can expect after Zero Year.

BATMAN #27 is on sale this week.

This is news I can get behind. And stalk.

I heard Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo met on Christian Mingle.com.... That's why they been together for so long on the same book.

Posted by SandMan_

Now I hope we can say the same for Greg Pak and Aaron in Action...

Now DC should chain Sean Murphy to a series too.

@sandman_: Just a few issues in and they are already amazing, Action was really starting to feel irrelevant before those two came into the picture.

I can easily see them rivalling Snyder & Capullo, all they need is a couple of big stories.

Great news.

I can't really think of any artist that suit this series as Capullo.

i still think its a bit early to say that for pak

That's cool, but I am really not feeling anything Scott Snyder has done lately.. Zero Year, Superman Uncained, and The Wake are just mediocre IN MY OPINION.

I can't wait until Zero Year is over.

Posted by The_Tree

As long as it continues to stay at Court of Owls/Zero Year level quality, I'm completely fine with this.

Posted by Jayc1324

Theyve done a great job so ar hopefully they can keep it up

Posted by 2cool4fun

I just hope Snyder can up his game a bit, loved court of owls, death of the family was great, but zero year is just "good".

This is great news, I love this team on Batman and are glad to hear they'll be sticking with the book for the time being.

Posted by Denn979

To be honest, I wasn't really in to Batman n52 until Death of the Family. That was AWESOME. Court of Owls and City of Owls was pretty good, but I'm just not into Zero Year, though I still collect Batman in trades though.

Past 50!? …. niiiice :D !

Thoroughly enjoying the run, can't imagine one with out the other at this point. Check out their episode on Fatman on Batman with Kevin Smith, total opposites of the personality spectrum, Capullo being somewhat of a comic rock star and Snyder in his seemingly reserved ways. Great news.

I hope they get their hands around a great Hush story.

You know, it wouldn't be surprising if DC execs noticed that Batman is the one new 52 title that has gotten a complete series of 5 star rating on this website and made sure to keep Snyder and Capullo. What I'm trying to say is that even if partially, I personally consider Tony to be responsible of that news along with other professional reviewers who have consistently granted good reviews to that book.

Just saying. :)

@darthtanka: (actually it hasn't received 5s on every single issue. almost)

A very sad bit of news for folks who like their Batman to be a scientist and detective before a physical brute.

At least now maybe we have an enddate for their run.

2 more years :(

Just wondering, but what is coming out of Batman's chest on that cover?

Edited by DarthTanka

@g_man: Well, anyway, what I meant to say there was simply : Thank you Tony, this book is awesome.

Continuity is nice and the book is good, but its not in my top 5 DC books either.

I yelled out with joy and startled my fiancee. This is great news.

Posted by comicbookfan93

@2cool4fun: but do you think it's good by his standards because his other stuff has been great?

Posted by 2cool4fun

@comicbookfan93: Yes, when I compare it to every thing he did in DC so far, Zero Year scores lowest.

Posted by CantDance93

Ok. I can rest easy for now.

Posted by mickeymayhew

YES!!!!!!

Posted by timelord

considering Batman is the only book to constantly break 100 000 sales wise they would be stupid to lose them. The only times the other books come close is when they launch a new series of etheir Superman or Batman.

When Teen Titans re launches I expect that to hit 100 000

Posted by mak13131313

Great news!! Hopefully they stay on for even longer!

Not liking the idea.

It's bone I think.

I have the hardest and worst time thinking about what'll happen after they leave. This is my favorite DC title every month, and to think that'll change eventually is horrifying. They're just the perfect team on this book. Hope they stick around for as long as they want.

Posted by acomicbooklook

This is great news, Capullo and Synder are something special for sure.

Edited by GraniteSoldier

This has been my favorite DC title since Court of Owls. I can understand why it isn't always people's cup of tea, but I've been enjoying it. I hope it only continues to get better.

Posted by RigorMortis

Fantastic news. Snyder and Capullo continually reaffirm my love of mainstream superhero comics in a time when everything else by the big two feels like shameless cash grabs and publicity stunts.

Posted by CaptainHoopla

This is the good news you hear when a creative team continues to do great work on a popular top selling book. DC editorial won't dare try to meddle or dictate the stories they want to tell.

Posted by nappystr8

That kind of run, even ten years ago, would be really impressive, now it's frankly miraculous. Their Batman isn't for me, but I know there are a lot of people ecstatic with this news. So, cool.
