I agree fully with you, but my overall point was that there were still pirate copies of Avatar which were copied from the 2D exhibitions, and the fact that the 2D version was sold out, at least in my city, goes to show that people don't really care all that much for the 3D, or at the very least that they will settle for 2D. The 3D factor has given people a reason to go the cinema to see a movie as it's supposed to 'add to the experience'   In my opinion though, it's a gimmick and in the same way many people have got HD tv's but not upgraded to Bluray & HD receivers, a lot of people will be just as apathetic to 3D tv.  "

Interesting.  If what you say is true, then it wouldn't surprise me if studios start fighting in-home 3D.  If the only place you can go to see a movie in 3D is a movie theater, and if 3D can't be displayed in a manner on computer or TV screens that is visually appealing to the viewer, then studios may have found their best anti-piracy weapon.    Imagine that: a solution to piracy that involves embracing technology, rather than avoiding it.  A couple of companies are making 120hz screens that can do 3D, but I don't imagine them being cost effective anytime soon. "

NOOOOOO, I just want to sit there and enjoy the movie. I don't want to have to readjust my eyes every 5 minutes.

I'm split on the 3D fad... I like it when it's more there to enhance the viewing, as opposed to the "Holy crap! It's comming right for my face! IT"S 3D!!! AAAHHHH!!" experience that some studios tend to do. So long as the 3D-ness of it is toned down, I have no problem.

YESSSS!!!! Green lantern is the PERFECT superhero movie to put  in 3D because the art of the comic book itself has always been very creative and animated.  This will be awesome

Ah 3D.  15 minutes of coping with disorientation, followed by 15 minutes of "oooh, pretty", concluded by an hour or so of forgetting that the movie is in 3D to begin with.

im already tired of 3D...so very tired

3-D here makes a lot of sense. Hopefully it'll help the constructs look even cooler.

I can see jumping on the The Dark Knight IMAX bandwagon, but to jump on the Avatar 3-D bandwagon? Awwww, yeah - I am so there! YES!

I'm generally not a fan of 3D movies, I think they tend to try too hard and it fails. But Green Lantern is the perfect movie for this. (: the 3D constructs will look awesome.
