Green Lantern Sequel Is Still Flying Ahead

We shall see what was promised in the "ring swapping" epilogue now, won't we?

THR’s reported that Warner Brother’ plans for a GREEN LANTERN 2 are still moving ahead in spite of the studio being “somewhat disappointed” with the first flick’s gross so far. The last news we heard anything regarding this sequel was an announcement last summer that Michael Goldenberg would be writing a script based on a treatment by this movie’s co-writers Greg Berlanti, Michael Green and Marc Guggenheim. Anybody who’s seen GREEN LANTERN already will remember the movie ends with an epilogue that’s all-but-missing on-screen titles that read “To Be Continued…?” It’s good to know that nobody’s going to be left hanging about the fall out of that “ring trade.”

Anybody even remotely familiar with GL’s mythos knows that Sinestro eventually makes a heel turn (as they’d say in pro wrestling,) so I don’t think we’re spoiling anybody’s sundaes by saying a sequel’s surely going to be about him and Hal butting heads. Last week, we posted some in-depth speculation about what a follow-up could entail and now we know that none of that conjecture’s going to be for naught. If any of you maniacs held off before on throwing out your own ideas what you expect and want to see in GL2... well, you’re still free to join the party.
