Harvey Bullock looks OK. Just about the only decent thing here.

The Waynes' murder is all wrong. No pearls? No Martha and Thomas getting harassed for cash before the guy shoots them out of desperation? Instead, it's just some guy pulling out a gun and shooting them both without saying a word. Lame.

Overall, don't have very high hopes for this.

Clicked the play button with low expectations. Ended the video pleasantly surprised. I think I'll try to watch this series. It'll be really cool if they even have Gordon gradually grow his signature mustache as the seasons progress.

Wow I have realized something that will piss people off, the guy who kills the Wayne's looks like an assasin and they act like it is a bigger deal. This is a stupid idea I mean he has a mask on the bottom of his face so it was a hit that alone is really annoying and dies not work. What is also strange is that after arrow taking so much from The Nolan trilogy, they are not going to do something that helped begins which was that they dove into joe chill and made Bruce understand that he is not the man to blame.

Also why are Catwoman and ivy in this show it feels tacked on like all hell. Not to mention that having Gordon teach Bruce about fear hurts both characters immensely. Year one can't work now so that's just great.

Also Ivy got her ability a and became a criminal latter once she was in college, it's not the change that makes me upset but that they are doing this to tack these villians on instead of this being about the mob. Right there the mob in gotham easy show that has potential this also ruins tje massive batman idea of he created his villians. Also seeing as Selina Kyle is a stripper in the comics I don't want to have to see this kid character grow into being the older version but they kida need to do that.

Also the whole thing about the Wayne's deaths making the city go to hell is stupid and seems like the writers took from Nolan without knowing what Nolan meant. It's not that gotham was crime ridden because of that but that anyone who had a little bit of hope lost it. Also gotham was a mess before hand so what the heck. Also they should not bring the Wayne's death into this.

I refuse to watch this show, don't get me wrong it looks badass but I know fox, and I'm not trying to get into a show that will be canceled after two or three seasons. The disappointment and the what would of happened isn't worth it.

Considering this trailer is for a pilot, it is very promising. Unless shows have a full order pre-pilot, they tend to have a couple scenes that feel a lower on the production budget scale. I'm definitely stoked for this!!! Moustache for season 2????

It really does, now that you mention it. Though, I wouldn't consider that a bad thing.

I'm not really against having a show set in Gotham before Batman. Something we see very little of in the Bat-Universe is what Gotham was like before Batman and all of the capes and masks. Seeing Gotham through the eyes of a young Jim Gordon and through him witnessing this iconic city slowly become the one fans know and love...personally I think we need more stories like that.

Something I'm interesting in seeing is how much focus is on Bruce's childhood. From the trailer it's apparent that he'll be a cast member and Jim Gordon will act as a mentor/father figure of shorts to the young Wayne. Obviously Gordon will impact Bruce in an important way, possibly showing him that to save Gotham he must go beyond the limitations that men like Gordon have as police officers. Maybe it's through Gordon that Bruce will see that he must become something more than a ordinary man like Gordon.

Overall, I'm interested in where this series goes and at this point can see it going either way. As long as the respect the characters and the mythology, I don't think we'll have any issues. So with that said, I'm willing to give this series a shot.

Well he did witness his parent's getting killed before his very eyes and then forced to sit there with the bodies of his dead parents until the police arrived. So the idea that Bruce would be suicidal shouldn't really be that unexpected.

@war_killer: I know its not unexpected but I didn't like it and I also didn't like that Catwomangirl appeared just when he is about to jump.

Oh look comic fans complaining about non issues as usual,this time it's Penguin is too tall and Riddler is too old,here a thought WHO GIVES A CRAP. If they're acted well and written well then none of this is an issue.

To the others moaning about lack of Batman,you guys would've been bitching about Batman being everywhere had he been in it.

I especially like some of the complaints about Ivy that are going around the internet. She's in the trailer for exactly one second, during which she does nothing, and people are like "SHE DIDNT GET HER POWERS THAT YOUNG THATS IT NOT GOING TO WATCH THIS CRAP". If ever there was a demographic of people that deserved to have their right to their own opinion taken away, it's comic book fans.

I like the complaints about Batman, though. Those give me strength.

Good acting is never the case.Everything should be comic book accurate and around the internet it's all about whining about every single thing ever and that's just how things work. *and to point out I'm not being serious about everything being comic book accurate*

And also there is never a Batman thread in which a person would not complain that he is overused or why wouldn't he appear in this and stuff like that.It's like the meaning of life or something like that.

Yeah it's great that they no longer cater to this type of fan ,and it's really turned out for the better.

This looks like it might have half a chance to be good.

The writing and the look of the show is....amateurish. It's trying so hard to be "hip" and "dark" and "moody" but it comes out looking silly to me. Also, it looks like they have zero faith in the main character himself. It's like their saying: " Guys look, the Penguin and the Riddler are here..also, Poison Ivy and Catwoman...you like them, right? Right?" instead of building interesting drama and conflict for Gordon himself.

Now, the show still might do that, but the trailer isn't showing any of that. It needs to take it's time, not rush in with stories about the corruption in the police force or with "villain" of the week type of stuff. I say, let the characters grow, take your time and make a solid foundation for all the crazy stuff down the road. A show about an honest, good man trying to do the right thing in a twisted, awful corrupt city is interesting set up on itself.

Accuracy to the source material is a legit concern to a large extent but it seems like CB fans are more concerned with how the character looks than how he is presented.They've made it clear that it's gonna be a young Penguin,plenty of time for him to become fat.

I've seen a person saying it's gonna be crap cause Bruce is screaming and Joe Chill is wearing a mask... sigh CB fans.

Now,now,people here on the Vine don't care for such stuff. If they are going to show us Penguin they have to show him with his later look, short, fat and quite ugly.

Not a fan. It's pretty much before all the good stuff, and the fact it may bleed over to the comics has me more concerned then apathetic.

I'm hoping Gordon starts to grow the mustache later on in the series..... That all I care about. Just the mustache. That is the one thing that will make or break the whole series is that mustache....... I can give a crap less about anything else.
