Captain American will sacrifice himself nobly in order to prevent some disaster. Marvel will do this in order to terminate the Captain America franchise so that they can start selling their comic rebooted as "The First Avenger" without all the US Jingoism from WWII that is built into the character.

If Marvel wanted to do that then they wouldn't have made the WW2 aspect so prevalent in the movie.

I seriously think we could see the death of Captain America but maybe the birth of Ultimate Winter Soldier?

Seriously though, people that think this won't have lasting effects clearly don't read Ultimate. Death of Spider-man, Ultimatum... like them or not, what happened in those stories is still being felt today. Can't really say that about anything else.

Anybody implying that this type of language shouldn't be taken seriously is completely clueless about the Ultimate Universe. Big things happen all the time, and they stick. And the deaths are a big deal. In 12 years of Ultimate Comics there's been tons of characters killed and maybe two of them shown to still be alive after.

Generally speaking when they say things are going to change in the Ultimate Universe they do.

I think Captain America will be faced with a decision to either blow up the world and restart everything fresh slate and all, with him dying during world war 2 or take control of the whole world. Doing option 1 will allow the universe to have a good way to bring back a lot of the old characters while at the same time do something different. E.G. if Captain America died during world war 2, would the US have won the war? and if not how would the new world Order look like with certain characters. Would certain Characters even exist without captain America being alive in the future?

I see cap either becoming president, since he is a uniting force for the Ultimates. These taglines though can be deceptive though. I don't imagine they will kill Cap since they just killed Peter last year.

To be fair though, the times that have drastically changed the Ultimate Marvel Universe have all stuck, so it's not as if the claim holds no ground. I'm intrigued!

Yeah, they actually do change things in the Ultimate universe. They never change it back or make it a dream or something.

I really like Ultimate Spider-Man, but I think I would've liked it even more if everything in the world around New York and Miles Morales wasn't so fucked up! I'd prefer a down-to-earth universe with Miles, because right now with everything going on, his adventures seem kind of... trivial (even though I like the comics).

The Ultimate Comics: Ultimates and X-Men are wholly uninteresting to me - and I usually love Jonathan Hickman. But I think that is because I am not all that familiar with the previous incarnations of Ultimates and X-Men in the Ultimate universe (or maybe they just suck).

I'm so ready for this. Ultimate Comics: Ultimates has been great so far. Cap being president is the only logical explanation I can think of considering the events taken place so far. That, or killing him off.

Wow I totally read the headline as the Ultimate Comics Universe to change to the Forever Universe. You know when there has been too many retconns when when you automatically assume every universe is getting re-branded.

They should kill him. In the regular Marvel universe I liked Bucky as Cap better anyway.

you have a point there...

Oh gee another Ultimate Marvel tagline that promises to shake things up. How many times have you relied on this tactic Marvel? It's getting old now.

Oh my ... it's almost a little bit pitiful (for Marvel) to use such wording! I mean all these empty promises and superlatives the business (publishers, writers, editors, ...) is using are so annoying.

Translated it means: Ok, after we totally ruined the first Ultimate universe just because the sales were going a little bit down, we now see that we totally and absolutely failed and sales are even worse ... so now we starting over (again because the sales statistic ... now much worse, but now we're used to the low level ... they still aren't as high as we need them to satisfy our shareholders, analysts or who ever).

And a bit all those fanboy sites always jumping on this marketing wagon are partly to blame for the low level of an industry just catching sales peaks instead of steady sales and quality. And of course those who buy every crap they got delivered to their comic shop.

either cap is going to die or change his name because there is no more america in the 1610 universe.

Sounds more like skepticism than hate. They're right in that this is nowhere near the first time Ultimate has made this claim.
