Garth Ennis Announces RED TEAM At Dynamite Entertainment

The writer reveals his plans to release a new 7-issue crime series.

Even though Garth Ennis' THE BOYS have wrapped up at Dynamite Entertainment, doesn't mean the man doesn't have another project up his sleeve -- because he does. According to the latest Dynamite press release, Garth Ennis will be launching Dynamite Entertainment's series of crime comics by introducing readers to RED TEAM, his all-new series. Garth's books will be the first series to be announced, followed by Andy Diggle's project with Dynamite which will be revealed in detail tomorrow.

So what is RED TEAM all about? The series will focus on a "special task force unit of the New York Police Department." The book will highlight four members of that team specifically who decide to murder a crime suspect, but things go sour fast. Ennis and Dynamite plan to make this a 7-issue long series. The book will be illustrated by artist Craig Cermak who hopes to compliment Ennis' "dark and moody" story.

What do you think of the idea of Ennis' new crime series? Are you looking forward to it? Are you sad to see THE BOYS come to an end?

Special task force unit of the NYPD? Um...can anyone say...

But seriously though, I'm intrigued by this now, and gives reason for why his run on The Shadow is soon to be over ::whimpers::

That last issue of The Boys was one of the best written things ever. A real pay off for long-time fans.

A crime story by Ennis... what's to 'think' about? It'll be excellent.

Will Ennis actually stay on this book or will it be another Jennifer Blood and Shadow? This actually sounds rather good. Looks like Dynamite will be receiving some of my dollars once this and Green Hornet hits trade.
