First Look: SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN #27.NOW

God I'm gonna miss this title; dreading Peter's return as it is, and the April solicit even says 'same old Parker luck' - 'same old' being the operative statement. And all to tie in with a movie, they're ruining one of the freshest comics around.

Bye, bye Superfluous Spider-Man.

Feels like the grand finals in the Spidey rogues gallery tournament that has been Superior Spider-Man. I have high hopes for the Osborn vs Octavius face off. Otto's main disadvantage against Gobby has always been his lack of physical prowess but with Peter Parker's body he actually stands a solid chance. I'm just worried that they might kill off Norman due to all the complaints about him during Dark Reign. I'm going to miss this series and I could care less about the new movie.

I didn't start reading spider-man comics until Superior, it was nice to get a dark take on his status quo, so sad to see Peter return so soon. Just in time for his movie...........

Been waiting for the return of Green Goblin for awhile. Hope it is Norman, always been a fan of him. Superior has been an interesting, but the failure of characterization for the supporting cast has irked me since its beginning. Hope it ends well, with the best arc to date, and can't wait for the return of Peter.

I am going to miss superior spiderman. I loved the character, he was totally awesome.

SSM was a great series and I can't wait to see the climax. I always find that really great comics are the ones that have a predetermined ending from the start of the book. From 1-31 the book was one long story and didn't have any kind of filler aspect you would expect from a typical ongoing.

I am assuming that Otto wont be gone completely. Peter will have his battles like how Otto is having his with Peter. Excited to see what will happen.

I really hope somehow, Superior Spidey gets to stay.

Goblin Nation has been the main thing I've been pumped for ever since GG started gathering up any goblin related spidey villains and what not. Can't wait to see how all of this goes down and what'll happen in the end. Say what you will but Otto has been a great Spider-Man since he took over for Parker

Going to miss the book. Real excited for this story. Plus the variant cover with Superior Spidey vs Green Goblin or Goblin King whatever he calls himself, looks freaking awesome! It's probably my second favorite cover from the Superior Spider-Man. It's in the top 5 favorite covers from Superior Spider-Man.

I'm intrigued as to what might happen to Otto, as the series comes to a close. I hope they keep him around in some capacity.

Well it's been fun but get the hell out of here Superior fans. The majority of you were all fake Spider-man fans since the beginning so in the words of bioshock "Would you kindly, get lost and go read the Punisher Now."

I've enjoyed the run and as much as I've liked SpOck I'm happy Peters coming back. Really looking forward to this arc and seeing everything unfold. I wish camuncoli was the indefinite artist and not Ramos

That art looks so good after reading a Ramos' arc.

I wish it was a surprise that Peter was coming back. Like, imagine how much better that moment in #25 would've been if they actually managed to keep it a secret up until then.

Even though I quite reading this after issue 15 (I got tired of Slott dumbing down characters and changing their behavoir so his story would work), I may have to find me that cat cover.

Im disappointed that it's ending so soon. 1 year isn't enough time to make Peters return epic enough (in my opinion). That, and i really liked SpOck's arrogance in Parker form

just finished reading SSP#25 and I just feel so happy now that Peter is gonna come back.But at the same time, i would love to see how Dan Slott is going to deal with Ock, no matter what, Peter's back, back again

yep. Pretty much. I like a lot of anti-heroes. That's why I'm not a big fan of Superman either.

Peter isn't boring, he's just a character that's been around a very long time - 700 issues - and what more could they do with him? once the movie has gone...god...back to the same old; please don't go, Otto!!

Every kind of art looks good after Ramos

Seriously! People are calling fans of Superior Spider-Man "fake fans" of Spider-Man, which is ridiculous. I love Pete as Spidey, but over the course of 1000s of comics, his character has slowly been burned out to the point where everything about him is predictable. He's an overgrown manchild. The mistakes he makes are no longer "Parker luck", they stem from some sick deep seated lack of maturing as a human. Otto was a dick, but at least he changed things up and made some progress in Petes life. I'm excited for Pete to come back, but not at the loss of character growth and development.

I understand the whole "everyone's characterization was off during SSM", "nobody realized he wasn't Peter" and I get that. But honestly, I still prefer this poor characterization of some characters if new, more interesting stories then "Oh, fudging Aunt May has 10 hours to get her medication before she dies and Hammerhead has the last dose of it" BS we've been getting over and over again. I want to see Pete grow up just a LITTLE bit. I loved JMSs run for that reason.

tl;dr

Its not that we are all obsessed with antiheroes, it's that Peter became extremely boring and pathetic and it was entertaining to see some one else tackle spider-mans problems in a different manner. Also, Scarlet Spider has been 100x better than any recent Slott Spider-Man to date.

I'd like to see Mysterio take over Peter's body and then we can have a 31-issue run of 'The SFX Spiderman'!

The colouring on that cat variant hurts my eyes for some reason. :(
