First Look: SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN #26 - "Goblin Nation" Begins

@atb877: I really doubt that they're going to kill off Kingsley as Slott wouldn't be dumb enough to piss off the fans again after that Big Time debacle. While it's obvious they're going to make the Green Goblin come out the victor, it would probably end with Kingsley most likely escaping and leaving town or probably getting captured and sent to the Big House. Plus I heard in some solicitations that there were plans for the Hobgoblin at some point, so it's not likely that Kingsley will be killed off in this arc.

I'd bet money on this Goblin not being Norman, so I'm not really sure how this event is gonna turn out.

I'm sorry, but I still don't understand why people like Humberto Ramos so much (quite frankly, there's A LOT about this book that people seem to love that I don't understand). Greeny just looks silly to me. And the way he draws people yelling or screaming (with their jaw cocked to the side and their big, white horse teeth) looks like Elvis Presley taking a dump.

@themanintheshoe: They addressed this early on in the arc.

Avengers will probably think Spidey is fine since he clearly doesn't have the Venom suit anymore (back "home", and about time) and Slott will somehow write some half-a**ed logic as to that being the root of Spidey's attitude problems. They should still be able to spot something being up a mile away, but that's my estimation.

However, I'm really excited to see the Green Goblin in action again as he's always been one of my favorite Spidey villains. I hope Slott writes him well at least, because I would hate to see him ruined (like some other things have been).

another lackluster "event", in a pitiful run, thats hopefully ending soon...
if the avengers can't tell this isn't spider-man, they're the most clueless superheroes EVER...

Ah man why did Stegman leave Spider-Man. That cover looks amazing.And I'm going to go ahead and make a prediction that no one is going to remember and say we're still going to have Spock after Goblin Nation.

I know. After the massive national security breach that was the Secret Invasion,or Captain America rebirth, one would think that heroes would take appropriate steps to make sure it would be impossible for any villain to walk around pretending to be a superhero. That awkward moment when you realize that real life airport security has better safety protocols than the Avengers.

Man that cover is awesome, love a good goblin fight! The interiors not so much, especially how jarringly different they are.

@impurestcheese: I'm pretty sure that isn't the case...these people who he's renting out gear have no affiliation with the people who held the mantles before...this 8 Ball is most likely just using the gear as a gimmick to rob places and doesn't care about Sleepwalker one way or the other

Well, considering Green Goblin has to win because of the future solicitations and the promise of characters dying soon no matter if they have seniority...we know how this end for the other goblin.

P.S: Why is this tagged as Norman Osborn? We don't know who the guy under the mask is.

@thecheesestabber: 8-Ball was a foe of Sleepwalker who was a rocket scientist with a gambling problem. When fired it was revealed he'd been making his own gear and went on a crime spree and managed to fight Sleepwalker and win several times. He later teamed up with Whirlwind, Freezer Burn and Humbug to rob a crime lord called Ricadonna. She responded by sending a hit team after them with the Wrecker killing 8-Ball by redirecting a grenade thrown at him.

Not so excited to see the Avengers again, but The art looks great, especially the colours!

Hobgoblin has been selling/renting out supervillain identities for a while now so it's most likely a no name with 8 Ball's costume

Would he have a different diet? He has Peter's taste buds, and Peter's physical needs. The foods that we repeatedly go back to that become a part of our diet are kind of a subconscious thing, are they not? I'm not sure if Ock's mind replaces that.

His scent didn't change, physically he IS Peter. Wolverine might be suspicious but not more than any other Avenger.

@mtrakos: Everything would change except the scent. He is still in Petes body after all. Slott has actually had this planned for a while. Originally Osborne was suppose to be Superior Spidey but at the time Osborne had become a Semi-Avengers villian and was being used constantly, so Dan chose to go with Spideys second greatest enemy. At the end, all of this was suppose to prove once and who is not the Superior Spidey but the Superior Spidey Villian.

Lets see if dan slott can out do himself on making this spidey event worse than the last ones.

@themanintheshoe: I would think Wolverine would have by now. Doc would have a different diet expose himself to Doc Ock like habits. Certain things that woulda made peter sweat wont be the same as Docs. His scent would change. Between his suit change/behavior/ and scent Logan should know.

ugh Avengers....

It baffles me that none of the Avengers have figured SpOck out by now. This looks like an interesting storyline, nonetheless!
