First Look: SECRET AVENGERS #24

The Secret Avengers are trapped and it looks like Venom is the only one that can save them.

SECRET AVENGERS has seen a recent change in the creative team. Rick Remender, Gabriel Hardman and Bettie Breitweiser have been an awesome addition to the series. As far as the characters, Hawkeye is in charge and has been a bit of a jerk. He was extremely opposed to Flash Thompson (as Venom) being part of the team. Now it looks like he might be the team's only hope. Check out this first look courtesy of Marvel.

Is that Lady Deathstryke trying to jump CB? And that looks suspiciously like Zero/One at the bargaining table with Doom.

Was thinking that as well...along with that other robot Rulk ran around with recently and something that looks like a Doombot and a Nick Fury LMD? (I assume the theme here is that they are all robots)

Lol Hawkeye is a douche and a bad leader. Already lost a member that is just pathetic. Especially given he has a trained team.

Beside the point that anybody and everybody is an Avenger these days and it no longer means anything, why do you say that?

OH please they were never standards. Like Hawkeye was qualified when Cap first put him on a team. Wanda and Peitro were terrorist. Never have been standards besides what the author wants.

It's true that there were never official standards or tests to be an avenger. I personally don't like Captain Britain as an avenger but some others feel different and I respect that.

Of course not put if he was actually winning then Rick's Pet Venom would not get his chance to save the day. Even though logically Flash should fail seeing as he has what a few months of being a hero at most.

Captain Britain has every right to be an Avenger, he represents the West, and is far more powerful than the lowely Hawykeye and Black Widow who serve little to no purpose except for probably "giving us something to relate to." But I don't understand why he's having a hard time with those few baddies.

There are characters that have already been long time Avengers that are more deserving of the spot.It just appears that Marvel doesn't have anywhere to put him right now but they want him to get some face time, so now he's an Avenger.I would rather him be on the Defenders. He fits better with them.

Really? I don't remember that.Wasn't MI:13 his team during Secret Invasion? The only Captain Britain I remember being an Avenger was Lionheart

Actually I believe there were standards before.Alot of characters years ago were denied membership because of their lack of experience and training.Characters like Hawkeye,Quicksilver, and Scarlet Witch were part of a team that Captain America personally took time out to train and make them good Avengers and they were...until Avengers Disassembled.

So then an unfair double standard. Still fact remains they had no qualifications when they got put on the team.

I'm curious to check this out since I discovered Remender on Uncanny X-Force. I'm a bit confused, though, with the use of Father and Captain Britain here considering what's going on in X-Force. I'll have to check it out. The Visions image reminds me when Vision took over Avengers Mansion in the 80s and created different versions of himself to battle the Avengers. Good stuff. I think this was the issue. http://www.comicvine.com/the-avengers-absolute-vision/37-25380/
