First Look: NIGHTCRAWLER #1

Take a look at what everyone's favorite blue elf is up to in his new series.

NIGHTCRAWLER #1 (FEB140691)

When Nightcrawler sacrificed his life to protect mutantkind, a hole was left in the X-Men’s ranks that has never been filled. With his recent resurrection in the pages of Amazing X-Men, Kurt Wagner has returned to a world far different from the one he left behind. Charles Xavier is dead. Scott Summers is on the run. Even Wolverine, his closest friend, has changed, becoming the headmaster of the Jean Grey School for Higher Learning. And though a deep schism divides the X-Men, Kurt Wagner isn’t going to waste one minute of his new lease on life.

Now, Nightcrawler is hitting the road, eager to right some wrongs and help safeguard the future of mutantkind. And he’s going to do it the only way he knows how: swashbuckling, lady-charming, and of course BAMFing!

Don’t miss the start of a brand new adventure as Nightcrawler and Chris Claremont make their triumphant return to the X-Men for NIGHTCRAWLER #1 – teleporting its way into comic shops this April!

Very excited for this series.

I thought it was retitled Xmen Legacy or something?

Wonder how much Wolverine will be involved in this series?

I don't know what the context of that second page is, but it is amazing nonetheless.

He's the main character, its only called Nightcrawler to confuse you.

Looks amazing!

No, it was originally going to be titled X-Men Legacy but they decided to make it just Nightcralwer instead.

@kilomac29: It's him wandering the school, remembering the good old days. (It mentions in the blurb that Kurt is dealing with the new status quo).

@allstarsuperman: It was originally X-Men Legacy, then retitled to Nightcrawler

I just read how Nightcrawler came back to life by teleporting out of heaven and I want to burn down all the comic books.

Now I'm a lot less hyped for this book.

I wasn't expecting much, to be honest. But I am legitimately interested. Getting back to when X-Men stuff was beautiful it seems. Dare I hope?

Jason Aaron.... blech.

I really like Todd Nauck, but Wolverine looks weird in the fight scenes. Maybe it's the awful new costume, not sure.

Looks fun

Indeed.

Claremont is bringing that old, family vibe back with him I hope.

Will pick this one up tomorrow for sure.

Yeah. That whole story line was dumb. Contrived "heaven and hell" crap, overall the way they deal with "death" in general, is just asinine and juvenile. I try not to take it too seriously, but suspension of belief has its limits.

Not bad Nauck, not bad at all.

Wolverine(2), Cyclops, Deadpool, Magneto, and now Nightcrawler. Who will be the next person in the X universe to get their solo ongoing?

Super excited for this! I haven't seen much of Nauck's work aside from the sketches posted on this website coincidentally but this looks great!

Damn, I'm not really a fan of Nauck's style.

But I mean... Maybe how his resurrection was handled was a little lame. But this is Chris Claremont, not Jason Aaron, so I think comparing the two would be like comparing apples to oranges.

Chris Claremont writing for the Nightcrawler title? Count me in. I am so incredibly excited now that Nightcrawler is back on Earth!

Hmm. Now that I'm thinking about it... Isn't Nightcrawler AoA on Earth too? Last time I saw him was in Remender's Uncanny X-Force. I wonder if that Nightcrawler will be in any Marvel Now title any time soon
