First Look: MOON KNIGHT #7

I'm all in on Moon Knight, I'm not going anywhere. I'm sad to Ellis and Shalvey leave but this new team ( especially the art) looks promising. There's a definite drop off but Shalveys a hard act to follow. The art from the teaser looks great and still has a noirish feel to it. I'm sticking around to see how this plays out.

Wait, there were questions that needed to be answered? I'm pretty sure Ellis spelled out everything that needed an answer pretty neatly. I'd really rather see this remain as a series of mostly one-and-dones, rather than trying to build arcs out of "questions" from earlier issues. Just because the series was kicked off by Ellis, it doesn't mean it should be turned into another Planetary where everything that seemed unrelated tied together in the end.

Still I'm hopeful that Wood can keep the quality up, because I've really been enjoying this take on the character. Good luck to the new guys!

@derf_jenkins: If you truly love the character, stick around and give it a shot, the first issue at the very least.

If you don't and it'll be just one fewer title and 4 fewer bucks every month now, I couldn't blame you.

I feel similar about this creative team switch as I did with the recent Batwoman switch (minus the controversy). I'll definatley still buy it as I love the character but I doubt it'll be the same as it was.

Is Wood's run going to still be standalone issues or are they going to be linked?

In fact it reminds me a good bit of the current Punisher run's art.

I really love this moon knight run, but I wish the series would starts having more consquense. I thought the Black Specter story in issue 6 was great but then at the end it just ended the whole story right there like it has been going. I would like it to have one big plot panning out over all of the various arches, not just a new arch ever issue. Regardless I enjoy this book so much even if it stays as it is I'll love it.

I don't get why they would take the original team off the book. The artist at least I would think would be too risky to remove from such an explosive series. It would be like replacing Aja at issue 7 of Hakweye.

I'm super impressed by how much love the new creative team (the artist at least) has for ellis and shalvey's short run. I wan't going to because I thought this'd be a great jumping off point (since I read too many comics already) but I hate to miss a good comic so I'm definitely going to check this out now

That cover. I am on the fence because i loved the previous arc.

Bit sad. I got the series mainly for Ellis and got hooked because of Shalvey, but now I don't like the art as much, nor the layout. Already dropped it from my pre-order, but maybe if it holds well after a few issues, I'll pick it back up.

He seems less original now, like he's copying the Question's costume.

Gotta give it a chance people, Hard to come to the conclusion the story or the art will not be good as the previous team when all we have been given is a three page preview with no context.

I'm with you on this one. The Mr Knight suit was cool for a bit, but now it's all we see.

I'm still down for it. As long as the story is good, and the art isn't bad, I'm happy.

@fubar20 Yupp. It's a real shame. I'll still keep reading the series but if doesn't measure up I may end dropping it, or it may get canceled, you never know, I truly hope I still love it, but after just reading issue 5 I'm not sure that a new creative team can keep up with that quality.

It's true. I'm not even much of comic critic because I love everything but I feel like I'm going to miss the art from the first 6 issues. Not saying that the new issues will have bad art, just not to the level we've grown accustomed to. Sad

Jordie's colors will help ease us in. I say we all need to have an open mind. I'm excited to see how this goes.

If it wasn't for us getting spoiled on Shalvey's art, we'd all be singing praises of how great this art looks. Instead everyone is left unimpressed. Lol.

I'm still looking forward to it. Still looks good, and the colors are still amazing.

I'm on board, need a couple of full issues before deciding on for how long.

That art doesn't even begin to compare.

As much as I love Moon Knight and this series i'm really starting to miss the costume..I know he still uses it every once in awhile but i'd like to see him in it more
