First Look: Joe Madureira's Vampirella #1 Cover

Joe Mad is back!

Where has Joe Madureira been? I know he's been busy working on video games but I selfishly want to see more of his art in comic books. Today, Dynamite is granting that wish, in a way. Joe Mad will be providing a cover the debut of their upcoming Vampirella ongoing series (scheduled for a November release). Eric Trautmann will be writing and Wagner Reis will provide the art (have you read our interview with Eric?). 
 
This is Joe's first time drawing for Dynamite Entertainment and Aron Lusen joined him with the colors. Other artists providing covers include Alex Ross, J. Scott Campbell and Jelena Kevid-Djurdjevic. You'll have so many choice you'll want to sink your teeth into. Check out Joe's contribution: 

All four covers come in a 25% ratio along with an Alex Ross 1-in-21 original art variant.

I always liked J Mad's work, but it really takes some doing to make Vampi's costume look seductive and not pornographic. I don't think he managed it, but I love the way he drew her profile.

I'm surprised there isn't some women's lib group calling for Dynamite's head for this character.......but lets be glad they aren't, because Vampirella is hot.  Can't say much for logic when it comes to costumes though, but who knows, maybe wearing next to nothing is the perfect defense when fighting monsters, it always seems to work in Japan......oh wait.

It's obviously very suggestive, but it's still a pretty picture. 
 
Now finish Battle Chasers!  Why buy a $100 book for an unfinished story?!  What balls it takes to solicit THAT.

Wow.  I was just thinking, the next time someone mentions how ridiculous glittery vampires are, I'm going to dig out some of my old Vampirella books!  And now she's back!

I don't think she is trying very hard, just lucky they go where they are supposed to.
