The new suit look is growing on me. Interested in where this is going.

I like the new design. But I hope Tony is still Iron Man. I don't think it would feel right for someone else to be using the armor. Jim is an exception because he grew into his own hero. 

Knowing Marvel..Tony will be back in about 8 issues.

Again? You got to be kidding me? Come on, Marvel - DC...Been there, done that...Bring us something new!

Tony Stark isn't Iron Man anymore.......how many times is that now???? Really, comic book writers need to stop pulling the same crap out every few years. This is why I think a better timeline approach to comics is needed where characters can die or retire and give up their identities to the next generation.

Rather than being a new person I think a cooler idea would be to have this "new Iron Man" be a new version of the Telepresence Armor with bleeding edge technology and a sophisticated VI system that allows it to be sent for specific missions and parameters rather than having true artificial intelligence. That way it could independently from either Tony or Rhodes once given an assignment or together with either person.

marvel moves fast. it hasnt been a lot of time since downey jr announced he was getting tired of playing stark and now new iron man.

I really do like that armor design. I've been meaning to get back into Iron Man after I ditched it during Fear Itself.

remember when they tried to retire johnny blaze for some random hispanic chick? got cancelled 9 issue AND johnny blaze returned.

i mean cmon...look at that desing/ its nowhere near the old design people are used to watching reading or seeing! even people who dont read comics would probaably say..ehh thats a lame.....the design is TOO GENERIC! almost all artist these days are inspired by TRON or something...first this..then the ravagers..now Teen Titans!? lol this wont work guys...maybe the character might be interesting and fun to read..but the design and most importantly the nostalgia that goes along with this..i mean when you say iron man...first thing sthat pop into my head or someones is RED/GOLD! its ICONIC!? this wont last im just saying guys haha

For those who have been reading, it's obviously a very story-driven move. Stark's been fitted with a device that acts as a limiter to the arc reactor in his chest. It's part of a plot by Justine Hammer (who is secretly working with the Mandarin) with the support of the U.S. military in response to his operating the Iron Man while under the influence during Fear Itself. He's basically been forced to sideline himself. Having said all that, I don't think anyone expects this to be a permanent thing. It's probably just for this story, which is fine. Who knows, though? It may be part of a long-form story (the presence of the large octopus robot first seen in the annual kind of hints that it is), which is also fine. Calm down, people. Enjoy the ride!

The suit reminds me of Noh Varr's current costume.

I always ha dthis idea of what if Peter Parker was to become Iron-man/run Stark enetrprises, if Tony Stark died, because he is sometimes has been seen as a protege too him

Kinda getting tired of Marvel killing off characters lately. Ultimate Spider-Man, now this. It's like they wanna redo their team of central characters.

wow i never heard he was getting tired of playing Stark. This Iron Man wont last more than a year though. Tony will play through his contract with Marvel and when he is done they will just move him out of the Avengers or only Show Iron Man. They dont have to keep doing Iron Man movies and i would be tired of it too if you went from IronMan 2 to Avengers then on to Iron Man 3. I would think after Iron Man 3 he would quit or at least take a year or more away from the Marvel franchise

rhodes should become the new ironman with stark becoming more like the oracle of the marvel universe

they won't kill tony because of the movies so that means he'll stop for ten issues and then there will be a problem only he can solve so he becomes Iron Man again. Story finished.
