Man's totally changing the tone and characteristics of my favourite superhero, how do you think a Batman fan would feel if he was changed back to the campy version? Or if Spider-Man was turned into a hard-boiled antihero?

what i find interesting bout Waid's run, is that he hasnt featured any of the classic DD villains yet - no Kingpin, no (lets face it, he will be back sooner than later) Bullseye, no Owl, not even Mr Fear or Lady Bullseye..

He's not changing the characteristics of Daredevil. He's the same Daredevil, the stories are different.

That I can understand. This has been my first experience with the character. As much as I love Brubaker I still have yet to read his Daredevil run. But I do feel your pain. Tim Drake is being changed by Lobdell. Tim is my favorite character so I know where you are coming from.

Don't you think it's weird that there is a giant castle in the middle of Hells Kitchen filled to the rafts with Ninja yet it's never mentioned?

Well to actually clear all that up they would need to use Kingpin. Oh and I do think he has changed DD, I don't remember him cracking wise about Kardashian weddings and just loling at the fact that everybody knows he's DD

This is a good thing. It's nice to see Daredevil fighting different villains. Main reason why I'm loving this run.

This isn't my cup of tea, either. I like Waid (loved, loved LOVED his Flash and Impulse runs). I like the artwork. I just don't like either on this character, nor do I care for the villains here. I love crime stories and DD used to be my monthly dose of hardboiled goodness. Now it's just another book I leave on the shelves.

I don't either.I am a huge DD fan and i've tried to force myself to like it and I can't.Even if I got past DD's happy go lucky wise cracking personality the stories are just not that interesting to me.

I don't hate Waid's run, but I don't like it either! You could say I'm indifferent to his approach, but what I don't get is everyone praising Waid's DD like t's the best thing to ever hit comics... it's not! I'm an old school DD fan, been reading him since the mid 70's, and prefer a darker DD, not a Shadowland one, but a hero that is always on the edge. As already mentioned, would you want Batman to be a more light-hearted character? The same should be said for DD. He started out through a need to avenge his father's murder, he changed from yellow to red to instill more fear in the criminals, and he's had a life of a lot of downs, not so many ups. Not the sort of life to put a smile on your face. I get what Waid's trying to do, after Shadowland, DD now want's to be a 'Hero' in every sense of the word, but it's surely only a matter of time before he returns to the dark side... isn't it?

Exactly, I love Waids indy books (Incorruptible, Irredeemable, Insufferable) but he's just wiped out everything I used to love about this book

THIS BOOK CAN NOT BE STOPPED!!!

Hey look I get it. I'm a HUGE fan of Bendis' and Brubaker's work on this character, but there is nothing wrong with taking Daredevil back to his roots a bit. I seriously hate that every time this title is mentioned it causes an uproar. It really seems that this is a book you either unabashedly love or loathe. Glad I'm the former and not the latter.

I'm sure they will get to it eventually. I don't think the Kingpin will be completely absent from Waid's run but he was used very heavily in Vol.2. It's about time to give him a little rest. I don't think Waid changed DD. He never cracked wise about the Kardashians before but did always have a sense of humor, he's no stranger to joking around. Of course you didn't see alot of that in Brubaker or Diggle's run but that was because of the events in the issues. Far too serious for jokes. LOLing about the fact people know he's Daredevil is just a different approach to what they've done the other 5-6 times DD was outed as Matt Murdock.

Lot of people hating on Waid on Daredevil!

I personally think its the best superhero book on the shelves. It seems lots of comic fans have issues with change and new direction. This is fresh and enjoyable and I think a lot of writers should be studying Waid for new ideas because god knows the industry needs it at the moment with superheros.

Hating on Waid? Man's killing it. Made me like Daredevil.
Man's totally changing the tone and characteristics of my favourite superhero, how do you think a Batman fan would feel if he was changed back to the campy version? Or if Spider-Man was turned into a hard-boiled antihero?

I feel he's going more for a Matt Murdoch approach as he's came out of this dark period in his life. I'm personally loving the series but I can see how some people might not like it.

Yeah, books and writers don't win multiple Eisners by catering to fanboys who get upset when the slightest changes are made to their favorite characters. They win them by being original and innovative, like Waid has been on this book. I certainly wouldn't be reading this book if Waid (or anyone else) treated DD the same way as Miller, Brubaker et al. had.

For me, it's more about what attracts me to certain characters. With DD, it was the gritty crime edge. The stories Waid is telling with DD now seem more appropriate for Spider-Man (whom I like). The thing is, though, when I want a Spider-Man story, I'll buy one. I don't pick up DD comics for Spider-Man stories.
