First Look: Batman Incorporated - Leviathan Strikes

I really want to get this one!

@The Mighty Monarch: Yeah, I think you're right. 701 and 702 clear things up enough. I was certainly glad to have read those issues. Final Crisis can be pretty damn confusing yet I think it's one hell of a ride. Essential, yeah, probably not.

@The Mighty Monarch: Great thanks a lot. I need to get The Black Glove, issues 7-16 of Batman and Robin, and The Return of Bruce Wayne and I'll be caught up. Also, you could probably add Final Crisis to that. Knowing what happens in that makes the end of Batman R.I.P. and the beginning of The Return much clearer.

@The Velvet Rabbit: Batwing is bad too! But there is, or I should say, was, a Blackbat. Cassandra Cain had that alias briefly before the reboot. I hated it then and if they bring it back I'll hate it still!

I'm looking forward to. That description sounds so deliciously comic book-ey. I've enjoyed most of the series a lot. Everything except the last issue. The interior art was pretty cool but the story was a little weak I think. I'm pretty sure this one-shot will deliver.

@Mokey: Does his epic start with Batman and Son and then go to Black Glove? I'm trying to catch up on it all.

yes! AND IT IS ON MY BIRTHDAY! and folks, this is before the new 52, hence the numbering. this batman book is slated to be the FINAL of the old universe, if i am correct.

Batman: Leviathan Strikes is actually issues 9 and 10 of Inc.

This is not the end of Morrison's Batman.

Batman Incorporated: Leviathan is a 12 part story coming in January written by Morrison that will cap off his Bat Epic.

I'm guessing this is post Re-vamp. And this must be tied into that Batgirl issue that said it was continued in Batman Inc #9.

No thanks... I already sold that atrocious first-chapter-8-part-supposed-to-be-10-part-ongoing-that-turned-into-miniseries-because-of-the-new-52 thing called Batman Incorporated... written by the most overrated writer in the industry............ now, if all of this was written by someone who doesn't wait 10 years to tell you their punchline, then I might pick it up.

@Garver: You're not the only one... that issue made me not ever want to pick up another Morrison issue again. It was utterly incomprehensible.

Spoiler - I think they've gotten to Batman Inc. too!

My guess is the one shot will be set before and Leviathan will be after. Though, I guess it does say Spoiler and not Batgirl, so maybe not. Maybe he just wears that suit when do INC stuff.

Either way, I wish this suit had stuck around in the relaunch. I always loved the return of the yellow oval. Much more iconic than just the black bat shape.

I hated Stephanie as Spoiler (and as Robin). It amazed me when I discovered I really liked the new Batgirl comic. Too bad that over before it could really get started.

@golakers112: Well Batman's best weapon is his ability to make his enemies fall in love with him so they subconsciously prevent themselves from killing him it makes sense he would keep that secure.

Ever notice that the most armored part of Bat's new suit is the codpiece? It even has 4 screws to keep it in place.

Finally it`s coming ( sad to see it end but it`s for the best ) so the only next step is for this to be Collected in an Omnibus (or as an Absolute edition ) hey it would be well worth the money in my book ! ( more Chris Burnham on art please ) 

Love it! Would definitely like to get this come the right time. Of course I have to catch up with the rest of Batman: Incorporated before I can do so. Maybe in time the back issue hunt can begin...

Yup. Either the story takes place after Steph drops the cape, at which point we have to ask why are Bruce and Steph doing the same mission twice? Or this takes place back when it was supposed to come out but in the DCnU Steph never was Batgirl.

Why this has to be a DCnU book I don't know.

I have a sneaking suspicion that they retconned Stephanie Brown's time as Batgirl and that they did some post side editing to replace her look and certain words of dialogue...

Change the costume, keep this as a panel!

God I wish this series was still coming out regularly....but perfect time for Christmas.

I think you mean Batwing - and The Wall is going by Bunker now :P and personally, I like the idea of Spoiler making a comeback - even though it seems the people that actually like Stephanie are few and far between :( my only problem with Morrison is that he's a very good writer, but his consistency is a little hit-and-miss sometimes

@hpwaz: This will be taking place in the DCnU. Stephanie Brown is Spoiler again. The cover was the original solicitation cover. Morrison's delays lead them to have to make this DCnU. There probably was some art changes which pushed this even further back into December.

@damswedon: Who says that Knight & Squire's history stays intact?? No one has. Knight & Squire are not Batman. Batman's corner is basically intact, but his interaction with other heroes in other books are different because the others are different.

Well it does say it's ending season 1. There might be a season 2 in the works.
