First Look: AVENGERS VS. X-MEN #11

Love this series.

I am not reading AvX, who is the girl in the first picture that cyclops is shooting at?

so much for chuck not interfering any more. and really marvel? storm vs emma? one very short fight. VERY short.

This is what I expected considering the ending of AvX #10. Maybe this happens towards the middle of the book.

I'm over this event honestly with the Marvel Now titles coming. Xavier dies and Legion brings the original 5 x-men back to continue his dream.

emma dies and charles is going to be handicapped again.....

Hay remember when the X-Men used to be the good guys?

Is it just me...or is it the more Emma is getting corrupted by the Phoenix, the less she wears? I swear her outfit is just getting smaller and smaller :p

Looks like storm Emma cap and xavier bs cyke to me

Charles won't end up in a wheelchair judging by the previews for WATX

im still not interested in this event. ill probably just read the last issue at my LCS to see how it concludes and creates Marvel Now

Make you bets! how will she die? will she be killed by cyclops? cap? Squirrel Girl? or will it be an accident? maybe she will not die... or maybe somebody else will die...

Remembering Civil War, I think there's a chance that Xavier may die.

Although AvX is slightly better in terms of events that's not saying much. I'm sick and tired of the latest 'game changer' and I use that term loosely.

Did Cyclops lose the Phoenix Force already, if not why isn't Captain America's shield destroyed (I know it's supposed be indestructible, but against the Phoenix Force that's pushing it).

Am I the only one who thinks everything is the Avengers' fault? If they would have left Utopia alone, the Phoenix Force wouldn't have been destabilized. Instead of five insane hosts, it would just be Hope and she'd probably just fix the mutant race. Even after the Phoenix Five took power, they probably would have been great for the world, if the Avengers hadn't been constantly attacking and undermining their authority. Sure, we're supposed to see Cyke as the villain now, but I still think he's the best possible Phoenix host (though Phoenix Magneto would have been really awesome too).

If Emma dies and they temporarily replace her with this Jean Grey from the past, I will be angry.

I doubt that Emma is going to be the one that dies. Im hoping its Cyclops that gets killed and I hope its either Wolverine or Cap that does it. I hope Storm is fighting on the good side of this event.

@illegal: Same recipe with the civil war, guys. Back then, Tony became the "bad" guy. Now, this.

Yeah, Cyke might not be using the Phoenix Force. I know in the last issue after Hope punched him, his speech was no longer in red, indicating that perhaps his portion of the PF isn't at full strength and needs to recharge. Just my guess.

On a similar note; I think Cheung has done a great job with the covers for this event :D

The series has a few honorable mentions;

Despite all ups and downs, I will definitely stick it out for the conclusion and am actually looking forward to the new direction coming this fall.

nope it should resist the the blast (cap's shield)...its indestructible...thats the cool thing about it

Both parties are at fault and have made stupid actions.

Wolverine carrying Thor's prone body to safety while his healing factor struggles to keep up as Iron Fist takes notice that Thor's Phoenix fire coated body is burning him alive ... Wolverine gruffly replies "just keep moving".

Spider-Man, yes, Spider-Man ... doing what he does best, saving the day ... painfully awesome.

These issue # 10 moments come to mind as I try to forget the silliness of Wolverine being lured to the jet by Hope using *sigh* beer cans, Thor getting spanked every second issue (seems like he was used as the patsy to prove how ubber everyone else was), Captain America acting OOC a little too often ... the X-Men looking more and more like the fascists they struggle daily to overcome ...

All those mentions were just as bad as this event.

Now, I think the Phoenix needs to reconsider its career. Its ability to instantly redeco its hosts shows me it could make a handsome living as a fashion designer.

Cyclops is such a jerk. And he actually thought that phoenix speedo was a good look.

There was a mix of good and bad in 'those mentions' as intentioned. Did you distinguish? If you think the Spider-Man scene was bad, then you're probably one of those glass half empty kinda blokes who likes to piss on 'events' in their entirety without bothering to differentiate.

There's a difference between offering a reason to your responding to my post and contradicting my opinion by expressing you felt the scene 'over dramatic', an admittedly more intelligent and 'open to discussion' kind of response, then responding to my opinion saying 'it's all just bad'. Honestly? I'd rather someone leave me be than arrogantly contradict my opinion in a "you're wrong it's all bad" kind of comment that is completely meaningless to me, not to mention antagonistic in its own right.

Like your opinion somehow invalidates my own without bother to elaborate. So ya, I didn't like your two cents in the way they were proffered and clearly informed you of such. I have no problems entertaining difference of opinion, but not when slapped in the mouth with them without so much as a 'by your leave' let alone an elaboration as to the whys and wherefores.

When Cap's shield got destroyed during Fear Itself didn't they combine it with Uru (sp?) metal when they reforged it? That's the only reason I can think of it would survive a Phoenix blast

Cap deflecting a cosmic Optic blast is bull and I'm a huge Cap fan. Oh and that Storm vs Emma image was epic. I want to see Storm, Ms. Marvel, and The Scarlet Witch go at her a little more.

This just makes me think why they didn't just throw Wolverine and hulk at the phoenix. Obviously popularity is too strong for the PF.
