First Look: AVENGERS A.I. #8

This is where the extinction of the human race begins.

This has been a great Avengers title. It's has a completely separate feel from the other titles and you don't have to worry about what's going on in the numerous other Avengers stories.

Marvel is pleased to present your first look at Avengers A.I. 8.NOW (=Avengers A.I. #1 in All-New Marvel NOW!). From the dynamite creative team of Sam Humphries and André Araújo – the war between organics and the artificial intelligence has destroyed the world of tomorrow. Dimitrios, the vengeance-seeking A.I. Hank Pym accidentally created when he destroyed Ultron has wrought death and destruction in his quest to eradicate the human race. NOW, The Vision and his robot Avengers squad must team up with the Uncanny Avengers to rescue humankind from complete extinction! And Dimitrios’ plan has consequences that reach far, far into the future – all the way to 12,000AD! Witness firsthand the Marvel Universe of the 130th Century – and it all starts this January in Avengers A.I. 8.NOW!

Daaaw. They gave Doombot his own cute little royal chair.

It's been a good series so far, so I'm looking forward to this.

I wonder when this issue is set in relation to other things, seeing as Rogue is alive in this. That is if she's definitely dead.

Presuming the series timeline goes in order, this issue takes place after Infinity, as #7 is going to be an Inhumanity tie-in. Scarlet Witch, Wasp and Wonder Man fought a new Inhuman in Avengers Assemble #20, so Infinity must take place before the events of Uncanny Avengers #14, if Scarlet Witch and Wonder Man are dead. I wonder how long before it's set.

Sorry to ramble, I'm just kind of interested in timelines.

Yeah, I love this.

I really like the art. It's so fitting for this particular series. But to see Rogue here is very strange. She doesn't fit into a book about robot Avengers. And does it play before Uncanny Avengers #14? Or is she back already?

Anyway, enjoyed the series so far.

You know, definitely dead isn't words that could be used about comics, especially about comics with timelines plot.

@rubear: By definitely dead, I just mean if they actually did die. I didn't mean permanently, as pretty much everyone comes back eventually.

Yes it is.

@v_scarlotte_rose: I think Remender has said that he's disregarding Ragnarok Now!'s place in the timeline until it's over, so you don't know who actually survives and who doesn't, based on other series.

@maddpanda531: Do you have a link to where this was said? Just want to see if there are more details.

@maddpanda531: Thanks. :)

I'll be interested to see what he says about its' place in the timeline. I can't work out why he mentioned something like that.

I already know this cover will be picked as one of the best covers weekly segment. I can't wait for this storyline, though, I've really been loving where this title's going.

So nobody's going to talk about that crazy shark-thing on the last panel?

Posted by V_Scarlotte_Rose

@raggedscarecrow: I'm guessing that's what Doombot dreams about. Possibly when refueling?

@v_scarlotte_rose: Now that you mention it, the faces on the tentacles do resemble Doom/Doombot. Interesting.

@v_scarlotte_rose: Since the apocalypse twins destroyed the S.W.O.R.D. Peak station in Uncanny Avengers, and since Thanos had taken control of said station in Infinity, I just assumed that much of UA is taking place post Infinity.

I hadn't noticed this. Well spotted. :)
