@supreme_maj: I agree I have read Abnett and lannings Guardians of the Galaxy and any hero that is connected to space or is cosmic in any sence has to be written by them. So I say bring them back have them write your Hyperion book, take the current GotG title away from bendis (it's not bad it's just nouthing has happend in the book and it is on issue 17) and give it to Abbnet and lanning so they can bring back the cosmic book from marvel that we all love.

Yeah very true it was a fantastic run, up to now i'm reading it. I hope if marvel want to lunch an Hyperion book they should choose those guys for the run

They were perfect for Maj. They had the pseudo-scientific element that works great for Mr Majestic, they told huge unhinged bombastic stories with no trepidation, The art was phenomenal imo. This is the team that should get another shot.

In my opinion, Hyperion is the only true Marvel Superman clone. And I guess I see how others could feel Gladiator is since his powers are exactly the same (though his origin and source are different). But Sentry and Blue Adam? Why? Because they fly, are strong, have some type of energy manipulation and have a cape? Then technically Thor would fall under that. It's like how people feel about Moon Knight and Batman.

Anyway, looking forward to this issue. Big fan of Hyperion.

Hyperion is best left as a supa-villain whn nt in his squadron supreme universe, anyways der's already KING HYPERION within d same 616 universe.

Anyhw, Ewing has been doing gr8 wondaz on BM/Blue Marvel in MA/Mighty Avngrs, so gr8 dat we/SZ hv fallen in luv with d xcter & wish Marvel gv BM a 2nd mini or maxi or limited series co-written by Grevioux & Ewing.

We/SZ wud even rathr read d puke-inducing Sentry dan Hyperion....Ewing has gr8 talnts but let him concerntrate d superb work he's doing on BM bcuz Hyperion already has 2 writers since he appears in 2 avngrs titles.

Aside from flight and super strength (tons of characters have this), Blue Marvel is nothing like Superman. He has a completely different set of abilities, back story, etc.

after this back and forth discussion ...i think we agree more than disagree on this whole subject ...besides what super hero continuity does'nt have a superman type ?...it creates alot of possibilities and marvel has done some unique takes on the superman mythos using hyperion so i could see the value in having him in the avengers i guess

@micah: I'm a Marvel fan and part of what i've always preferred about Marvel to DC is the lack of ultra powerful characters. I'd rather have a hero that struggles to win.

Ooooh please guys this 2 companies are used to take what the other do but in different ways Dc has also his share of rip off Rampage= She hulk; guardians = cap america; vigilante= punisher; Doomsday & Grundy= Hulk; Imperiex= Galactus; and some time even fighting style and concept in the 90ties they change Dick Grayson into a kind of daredevil with staffs and jumping on ruffs now he is a kind of winter soldier with his new serie; wonder woman who was dealing with nazi and villains, in the 80ties started to fight gods and monsters like Thor the list is long and the same with Marvel so please stop those debates about companies rip off

@icon: yup agree. Another best example is Captain America. He have great live action movie while Green Lantern doesn't have great live action movie but yet comics sales of GL is much better than Cap. Like you said, Justice League is more A-List teams and comics compare to Avengers

I don't mind the Great Society being copies of the Justice League. Their purpose was to show how a modern encounter between the Marvel and DC characters would work, since the personalities and morals of the Marvel characters are radically different from the DC characters. Other than the fact that the current New Avengers story line involves alternate earths, it's not really a copy of Crisis. It's not like the New Avengers have teamed up with alternate versions of themselves to an all-powerful god monster LOL. But I see your point.

champions of angor and earth 8 have appeared in 5 comics in 43 years so yeah they are a rip off... you have a point but look how many times marvel is using hyperion 420 apperences and squadrion supreme 186 apperences ...plus DC doesnt have a fake thor or captain america join the justice league ...hyperion sucks ...all he's needed for is to see how thor would do against superman ...or to see what if superman joined the avengers ...he's unoriginal thats all there is to it ...he was conceptualized to be unoriginal from his inception . but you have a point about earth 8 ..dc and marvel copy each other ...its just marvel does it more ...alot more ...look how much the new avengers current story (as great as it is and i love it ) is a copy of the original crisis ...c'mon the great society ? wtf ..red skies? merging altenate earths ???? but that supreme power story was really good you are right about that
