First Look: AVENGERS #25

Cant wait. Larocca is one of my favorite artists. And I am a huge fan of the original line-up.

They're copying X-Men...They're copying their own stuff... how sad is this?

I love judging things before experiencing it first hand, how in the hell did I miss this thread!?!

This...they don´t know how to handle time travel storylines most of the time...see AoU...

Let me get this straight, the original X-men are in the present and now the Avengers are popping up to? what is this Doctor Who?!

Strange reading the creators themselves admitting to jumping on a bandwagon. Or maybe not. If this ends with the Marvel Universe restarting because of the "time" problem/rip, then I don't know what to say. A little confused if it were to conclude this way.

This is really disappointing move by Marvel. Marvel could not find any good villains to use? We get to see now heroes vs heroes again? I mean can't they use...ummm....yeah screw it, Marvel doesn't have DC rogue galleries. :)

@war_killer: Especially since Hickman's already made the joke that he was ripping off Bendis. You know there's way more to it. But even still, this comic book is for fans of Hickman way more than fans of Avengers.

Am I the only one that thinks this story doesn't sound like it would work well with the Avengers? I mean it worked in the X-Men because X-Men stories are just overly complex messy weird all the time... always have been... this just doesn't seem like a storyline the Avengers would have.

It's total troll bait, of course. I bet it won't have too much of a bearing in the story, at least the original 5's presence, but the means and reasons why they appeared will probably influence the story. They'll either not actually be the O5, or they'll just go back, or they'll get killed off but not do Bendis rules and instead be technically being from a different timeline/universe.

This storyline doesn't seem to be all that interesting, but I've been craving some Salvador Larroca art for a long time. To see him actually do an Avengers book, I have to pick it up.

Ant-man in it, count me in.

I like this idea but it'll be awhile before I read it. So what's next the past Fantastic Four coming the present?

Well, you just missed the part where they introduce (when the timeline re-arranges) a new character that first hides in the shadows and then make us suspect it's all about him/her to get eventually to a story line where you learn that it wasn't his/her fault and no one gives a crap about him/her anyway.

First X-Men, now Avengers. Is this working towards an ultimate direction, or are they like "Hey, this made us money... let's do it again"?

Also, yeah, this is happening. After this it will be "ALL-NEW FF" then "ALL-NEW WOLVERINE". Eventually the Marvel Universe will be filled with past versions of everyone and it will all culminate into a war between the present and past versions. BUT HERES THE TWIST: THE PAST WINS. Then the past versions of everyone will live out their lives like their present versions did until they get to the point where the whole cycle repeats itself.

BOOM. Marvel will just reprint everything they've made in the past 60 years indefinitely. Because R.I.P originality :P

And my happiness from dropping all team related books from Marvel and DC has been validated again. The current exception is Superior Foes of Spider-Man, now there is a book Marvel should be promoting more and everybody should be checking out.

Why not pull a DC, New 52 and bring Wasp from the past instead of the microverse and THEN bring the old Avengers from the past. Just for the fun of it.
