New York Comic-Con was the place for announcements a little bit over a week ago for both of the comic industry's big guns, DC Comics and Marvel- including the announcement that writer J.T. Krul signed an exclusive contract with DC Comics. If you are a fan of J.T.'s work, then you are probably aware of his contributions to Aspen. Krul is one of Aspen Comics' biggest writers, and is responsible for taking over volume two of Aspen's Soulfire series as well as his own creator owned Mindfield series. The good news is that Krul will be continuing to write Soulfire into Spring of 2011 and will be on other Aspen titles for the next several months. If you are itching for another issue of Krul's Soulfire series, then you should definitely check out the next installment of the Soulfire series, issue #9. Aspen will also be releasing a variant cover by artist Joe Michael Lisner, and this is the first time the artist has created a cover for the book. Be sure to also look out for the gorgeous Marcu To wrap-around cover!

And, does he even want to?  Meanwhile, Grace struggles to save the tortured dragon Marigold, but will her greatest obstacle be a foe—or a friend?  The SOULFIRE universe will be forever altered after this riveting climax, the final chapter of Michael Turner’s SOULFIRE volume two!
