It's going to be a party. Check out all the creators that are attending.

Things have felt a little empty since AMERICAN VAMPIRE has gone on hiatus. It's understandable as Scott Snyder is delivering great issues of BATMAN, SUPERMAN UNCHAINED and THE WAKE. But we'll be getting something later this month.

The AMERICAN VAMPIRE ANTHOLOGY has been announced with an army of great creators taking part. Vertigo has just released a preview for the issue that lands in store later this month.

I am so looking forward to finally having American Vampire back, hopefully this will hold me up til December!

I hope that Simone's story doesn't ruin the rest of this.

Greg Rucka's involved? I'm in. I haven't even read any AV at all.

Oh gash darn, I can't seem to contain my excitement. Another reason for the month of August to finish up quickly! Can't wait!!

Could care less about vampires, but Rucka back at DC?........

My body is ready.....................................

Cant wait! Absolutely love this series

I'll probably wait on this. I always read AV in trade. It's going to be tough seeing as how Jeff Lemire and Greg Rucka are literally two of my all time favorite writers.

This is a really cool idea. It's great that we have comics that have a strong unified vision from the ideas of a single creative team. But often with the rich characters and worlds these series build, seeing that world through a completely different perspective is exciting. I'm not really into vampires, but I would like to see this idea of the anthology one-shot brought to other Vertigo properties.

Wow!!! A lot of love for AV in the comments, I should probably check the series out. This is the only Scott Snyder series I haven't read any of. I haven't bother yet because twilight has left a very bitter taste in my mouth about vampires.

Sweet! I'm pretty sure I will love this anthology.

... I would like to see this idea of the anthology one-shot brought to other Vertigo properties.

That would be great!

In the last couple of years Vertigo released a bunch of anthology titles -- Strange Adventures, The Unexpected, Mystery in Space, Ghosts, Time Warp -- but this seems to be the first one based on an ongoing series. All the aforementioned anthologies are great by the way.

@donfelipe: I recently bought all those Vertigo anthologies. I've become somewhat of a Jeff Lemire completist. So many fun and fantastic stories. Looking forward to the Witching Hour in October.
