First Look: ALL-NEW X-MEN #32

This is one wild idea...but I'm really looking forward to it!

This should be fun. I enjoyed Bendis's Spider-Men, which was a somewhat similar concept.

As an aside, are they going to stick with Angel/X-23 "we have nothing in common and have barely spoken but we're going to sort of date because we're in the same comic" thing? Not that it's something I care about a lot, but there seems to be a lack of convincing relationships in comics right now.

The fact that it's not a 616 version of Miles just makes me not interested in this story. I hope it doesn't drag on to long since Miles wont be staying in 616 and it wouldn't really have much of a lasting effect.

I probably missed something, but why are the original X-men still in modern times and not back where they should, or aren't they worried about messing up something with the present (did I miss something about them being from an alternate time/clones or something)? I really want Miles to just do his own thing instead of having him forced into things with others. Spider-men was cool because it showed a nice passing of the torch (in a way) and allowed him to develop as a character and know what he was doing, was alright.

It's like Marvel no longer cares, and is going "all in" with every story they could possibly tell that hasn't been told yet. Doesn't matter what "rules" it is or isn't breaking.

Part of me admires that, because at the end of the day, all that should matter is "Did you enjoy the story?". But another part of me is mourning a time when creators cared as much about canon and convention as the rest of us (instead of writing whatever will help them get into Hollywood).

I guess I'll be giving this a look.

They can't go back, some kind of temporal wall or other stuff, probable aftermath of Age of Ultron. They tried during Battle of Atom, but just can't.

I feel like Marvel wants to get rid of the Ultimate-verse and just dump the good Ultimate characters into the 616-verse.

What they need to do is give us some decent Ultimate stories. You can clearly tell they don't have the confidence they had in the Universe way back when the first Ultimates came out (although Miles Morales: The Ultimate Spider-Man has been great). Anything that doesn't have Miles in it, shrivels out and dies.

You see, people run out of ideas all the time...that doesn't automatically make this a bad idea, just a new idea (which could be good OR bad, granted). I'm ll for it. DC visits alternate universes all the time, this isn't that different. I for one am excited to see more crossovers between 616 and Ultimate, now that the two universe are so different post-Ultimatum.

every five minutes? exaggerating a little aren't we? they've crossed over twice...three times if you want to get technical....once with Spider-men and another two times with Cataclysm...and in Cataclysm we got almost zero interaction between the two universes other than Galactus and Valeria Richards

as for the "we've ran out of ideas"....this was addressed during Spider-men...they're response was basically that times change

I for one welcome more crossovers as long as it's not over done and at this point it's not even close to being over done....I look forward to the possibility of 616 Jean, Bobby, and Kitty meeting their 1610 counterparts

Well the thing is Doom wasn't dead apparently. Ben Grimm killed a stand in that Doom left in charge to run the country why he was away. But alot of the Ultimate Universe A-list characters are either dead or missing. The X-Men have been all but destroyed, the original Ultimates are a mess, and the Ultimate Fantastic Four don't feel like the Four anymore.

Miles Morales deserves all the shine he getting, all new x-men is bout to get turnt up!

True, If theirs one credit I'll give about Ultimatum. It's that so far with the exception of Doom everyone who died during that event has stayed dead.

Marvel needs to step up its ult universe or just straight up end it (save miles though!)

You can tell marvel is running out of ideas for the ultimate's, first we have peter back (which is a disgrace even if it is a clone) and now some more dimension stuff.

Ultimate universe needs a creator, who could just focus on that universe and create something unique and entertaining

Dude, try reading what they say this arc is about. Miles isn't going to 616. 616 is going to Ultimate. Really, I hate it when people whine about something when it isn't even happening. People need to learn to read the solicitation or the interviews.

I wasnt into the idea of miles going to 616 but the xmen going to 1610 is a great idea. I can't wait to see young jean meet facist jean and revolutionary galactus punching kitty meet giant bullet phasing regular kitty. I'm pumped and i don't understand why people seem against them going. The xmen and fantastic four do this interdimensional transport and alternate timeline stuff all the time and most people seem to love it. Is it really just because it's the Ultimate universe instead of earth # xxxxx

Hahaha You're complaining about people not reading things, but you didn't even read my post correctly. I mean seriously the first line of my post said very clearly that I know it's not 616 miles xD The fact that The x-men are going to 1610 doesn't change anything about my post, unless you're trying to tell me that All-New X-Men is a book about stuff in 616. The X-Men interacting with characters another universe won't have any kind of lasting effect, so I don't care about this story arc.

You're still misunderstanding. You made it sound like this should be something big about 616 Miles when that bridge should only occur in a Spider-Men book, so whenever Spider-Men II comes out will be that time. You said it like it should obviously be in this book when they are not even hanging around the 616 universe. So, since they are going to Ultimate, there is no reason to whine about a 616 character not being there. And as for lasting effects, this is where interviews come in. It was stated about what would happen if these characters not only ended up in a different time period and not get back but also what if they ended up in another universe and couldn't get back. And at Comic Con it was stated something big would be happening involving the Ultimate Universe near the end of the year and this arc is so far on route with that. So, with all that in mind, as well as considering young Cyclops went into Space with his dad, one or more of the All New X-Men might not make it back to the 616 universe and will end up leading an Ultimate X-Men book to take the place of the recently cancelled Ultimate FF. Sure, this is all purely hypothetical, but at least I am not simply discarding something simply because I think it won't mean anything. Bendis is practically the father of the Ultimate Universe. If he's bringing the All New X-Men over then there are bound to be events that affect them greatly, whether they all make it back home or not. Something always happens whenever characters interact with the Ultimate Universe or vice versa. With Spider-Men, both Peter and Dr. Octopus had to deal with Mysterio being in another universe, especially for Doc Ock when a new Mysterio showed up. Miles, meanwhile, referenced his meeting with Peter and that led to the solution in Cataclysm. In Cataclysm, when Miles and Mr. Fantastic went to 616 Miles hilariously made robots attack Superior Spider-Man - and in November we will see Peter, Doc Ock, and Miles in Amazing Spider-Man 10 so we might see some hint of that - and Mr. Fantastic saw his 616 counterpart's daughter with Sue Storm; in Ultimate FF he was still thinking about that when Sue came to see him after learning that a child between her and him could save the universe. Every time these two universes have collided they have had lasting affects. So, chances are this meeting in All New X-Men will have lasting effects as well.

they should learn better than to say things like that though. It makes them look bad.

Brian Micheal Bendis isn't writing 616 Spider-Man(And likely won't be for many years) but he is writing All-New X-Men, so I think it would be much better if a 616 Miles was introduced in this book by the guy who created him appose to in Amazing Spider-Man by Dan Slott. I don't really care if the 616 characters and the 1610 characters have any interaction because the interacting doesn't really have any kind of lasting effected on either universe, so I don't really care about this plot and want it to hurry up and end. I want All-New X-Men to do things that matters. If this was BMB introducing 616 Miles I would be really interested in it. I've read enough interviews to know when marvel is just miss leading people to boost sales, so I don't really care or trust any interview where they promise "big things". There has also only been one time the two universes have ever collided and it didn't have any effect.

In the ending of Spider-Men BMB teased 616 Miles.

They also inserted little kid Miles into Spider-Man's past in Spider-Man Season One having him save Miles in his first year as Spider-Man.

So I don't think introducing 616 Miles Morales in All-New X-Men with his powers maybe coming from being a mutant would be that crazy a thing to happen.

I actually like this idea. Miles isn't a bad Spidey from what little I've seen of him. And honestly, part of me thinks that the mainstream 616 writers REALLY want Miles Morales in their verse, and wished they had thought it up first XD I could be mistaken in thinking the writers are totally different, but whateves.

I wonder which thing in Miles' head is more shocking to Teen Jean:

A) The Galactus Apocalypse

B) Peter's Death, and Miles is the replacement.

C) 'Professor Pryde' was dating Peter.

I know about Spider-Men, I own it. I also know that Bendis is working on a Spider-Men II. That is where 616 Miles is likely to appear. And I'm not trying to convince you to read it, but rather that your reasons for not make no sense. If 616 Miles is to appear it will likely be in the Spider-Men II book, not an X-Men book, so there's no reason to complain about the arc not being about him; if 616 Miles had already made a proper introduction then that would allow him an opportunity to appear in the book but he hasn't, so it won't be happening. I know your dislike for the Ultimate Universe won't allow you to comprehend it, but chances are this arc will have lasting effects for the All New X-Men and Miles; like I stated above, when the two universes have met they have referenced the events of the meeting later on, so that means lasting effects. But since you don't want to accept the possibility I will have to recontact you at the end of the arc if something happens. And besides, the All New X-Men are going to a universe where Kitty Pryde helped saved it from Galactus and in the Survive on shot the president said he wanted to award her for it and that he was fighting for mutant rights. Perhaps this arc will finally show us the results of that and how mutants are treated there post-Cataclysm, especially since the mutant race was made by man in Ultimate. Yeah, all those are bound to have an impression on the All New X-Men.

Looking forward to this. On a few points:
- What will Jean do when she learns of her Ultimate Universe counterpart's fate?
- What will the team do when they realize the truth about that universe's mutants?
- Will 616 Kitty re-evaluate how her powers work after she learns what her Ultimate version can do?
- Will 616 Young Iceman freak out as much as he did with 616 Old Iceman, when he meets Ultimate Iceman?
- I'm guessing that this trip will keep the ANX team off the 616 playing field during the events of AXIS and the Death of Wolverine. So once they come back (and they will) I wonder how they will react to how everything went down in those events.

I'm ehh about this story arc....probably trade wait ....or wait for library to have it.
