First Look: 4-Page Preview of LADY MECHANIKA #3

Lady Mechanika is back, just in time for the holidays.

Last we heard of Lady Mechanika was nearly half a year ago, so where is she now, you ask? Get ready, the third issue of LADY MECHANIKA written and illustrated by Joe Benitez with colors by Peter Steigerwald will be hitting stores on December 21st, just in time for the holidays. If that's not a great way to start your new year, I don't know what is.

Back in June Comic Vine reviewed the second issue of Lady Mechanika which many of you who had given the comic book a chance, really enjoyed. As for the third issue? It cannot come soon enough. If you missed them, you can check out the reviews for both the first and second issue here and here. Despite all of the delays, this series is definitely one we (almost) don't mind waiting for because it's just so freakin' beautiful. And based on the preview images below, it seems the third issue will be no different. We last left Lady Mechanika after she had embarked on a journey to find the "Mechanical Girl." What she finds instead are the Cirque du Romani -- and not all of them are the nicest people. In fact, the Lady gets into a bit of an altercation with one of the members of the Cirque du Romani, which you can see for yourself in the four-page preview below.

Have you been looking forward to the release of the third issue of Lady Mechanika? What do you think of the series so far? If you're new to the book, but like what you see, be sure to visit your local comic shop to pick up the first two issues.

Wow, this looks really interesting. It looks like it is set in Italy or somewhere close, which is very appealing.

This looks awesome... Wish I had known about it before hand. Anyone know where I can get my hands on issues 0-2? I pull from Midtown Comics, but they don't seem to have it in those issues in their stock. =(

Is it okay that I am shaking?

I absolutely, unequivacably adore Lady Mechanika. So, so excited - one of the most amazing characters I have been introduced to. :)

Its a good book, the art of course is OMG. But I have to wait so...damn...long. And it has more ads per book then a Maxim mag :(

This book is amazing, but Benitez makes Joe Mad look punctual.

Really like the art. Just can't get past that stupid corset/leather armor she is wearing. Not even the most awesome art can make that piece make any sense and, to me, detracts too much. Protect her body but leave the boobs hanging out... just too dumb for me...

Looking fantastic! :D

That would be excellent, have to agree.

The single issues are beautiful, the artwork so incredible inside and out, can't even begin to state how great it all looks. Just WOW.

This series is beautiful, but whats the point if you have to wait half a year to read the next issue. I can only remember the gist of what happened, and I have no idea where I put the previous issues (well its in one of my long boxes but where, who knows, and those are buried in my closet, and are such a hassle to dig out). Which leads me to my point. If you know the book will be delayed this much, why not just release it in trade volumes from the start, instead of singlets? What, is this illegal or something? Why don't companies do this? It would be a whole lot more convenient to read a complete story, than read 3 individual issues of over years.
