Favorite Comic Runs: Christopher Yost's SCARLET SPIDER vs. X-FORCE

Both runs offer a fantastic focus on brutal Marvel characters, but which do one YOU like more?

Welcome to Favorite Comic Runs, Christopher Yost!

This week, we want all of you to reflect on the writer's time with Kaine and Wolverine's deadly team. With 2008's X-FORCE, Yost teamed-up with Craig Kyle to create a dark and engrossing path for the team's new roster. And with 2012's SCARLET SPIDER, Yost followed the events of Grim Hunt and showed us Kaine's journey as an anti-hero. But which one of these Marvel runs do you prefer? Does the artwork help sway your opinion in one direction? Do you love them equally and cannot pick a favorite? Or perhaps you're not a fan of either? We want to hear from you!

Do you want to re-read these runs before voting? Well, there's no need to feel rushed because the poll is staying open until this Friday morning (ET). That should give you plenty of time to leap into these two adventures. After giving it a proper amount of thought, cast your vote and then share your full thoughts with us. Make your post awesome enough and there's a chance we'll highlight it in the updated article.

Check the homepage this Friday to see which run takes the victory and why. In the meantime, feel free to make future match-up suggestions in the comments below or tell us via Twitter.

I voted X-Force. Kyle and Yost's New X-Men was really good so I followed them over to X-Force. Never read Scarlet Spider unfortunately.

X-Force is the better title IMO, but that could be my Xmen bias lol

Scarlet Spider

X-Force by far.

The Necrosha part with Selene isn't as great but the rest is fantastic.

Those were great times for X-Men fans.

Read Kyle and Yost's New X-Men, then X-Force volume 3 into Second Coming and you have an amazing X-Men run.

Yes I wrote amazing x-men as a reference to their new project.

X-Force...

I loved Scarlet Spider. I really grew to be a fan of Aracely, and the rest of friends Kaine made in Huston. He is the definition, like Ben Reilly was, of the road not traveled, the what if? I wish the series went on longer. Nova has his own series, is in New Warriors and makes appearances in Avengers and Original Sin? Well, that's just not fair

Scarlet spider by a small margin

I tried to click to vote for Yost's Red Robin series but I didn't see the button for it. Seriously, Comic Vine, get on that.

X Force. Necrosha was very enjoyable to me. The Messiah Complex. I liked his run. The Scarlet Spider was good also but I liked the latter much better. Oh yeah, X-23.

Heh. Just messing with you, K4tzm4n! Out of the two I like Scarlet Spider decidedly more. This may due to the distinct lack of Tool-verine and my general adoration for Kaine.

Kaine all the way. Big leagues and minimum carnage was great. Want to read the rest of the series and hope they come with volume 2. Chris yost ur great

Scarlet Spider without a doubt.

I love both honestly. Christ Yost co-created one of my favorite characters, and I look forward to one day seeing him interact with X-23 again.

This run of X-Force is part of what got me back into comics (this and Immortal Iron Fist) a few years ago. As an X-Man fan this has some great moments, Warpath and Ghost Rider, X-23, Sex & Violence, and call backs to those classic mutant villains. I've only read about a half of the Spider run but I did enjoy that as well.

X-Force for me.

This line from Super Soldier XII is even funnier though!

Any more Spider love circulating on the Vine and Parker needs to start worrying about dropping the soap.
