Fantastic Four Movie Rumors: The Thing & Director

Looks like Fox may be pushing the movie forward.

Last week we heard Fantastic Four movie rumors on the possibility of Adrien Brody or Jonathan Rhys Meyers as Mr. Fantastic along with Amber Heard as Invisible Woman and Kevin Pennington as Human Torch (I guess Alice Eve is being rumored as Sue Storm as well). I can't decide if the latest rumors is starting to make the casting interesting or just plain silly.

According to ComicBookMovie, it's now the Thing's turn to be possibly cast. A mysterious studio source has informed them that 20th Century Fox is "very interested" in getting Bruce Willis to voice their "completely CG Thing" as well as stand in for a couple of plain Ben Grimm scenes.

To add to the speculation, it appears that Willis isn't the only one possibly being considered for the Thing. Fused Film also threw in Kiefer Sutherland's name. Now I'm trying to envision Jack Bauer yelling "It's Clobbering Time! Get on the floor now!"

If that wasn't enough, there's more casting rumors.

Let's hope this scene happens!

Over the weekend it was mentioned that Stephen Moyer from True Blood was being considered for Doctor Doom. You have to have Doom in a FF movie, right? All of these rumors come from the same mini-site at CBM. But no casting can be made official until a director is attached to the movie.

According to the same source, there are three directors that could direct this film. The three possible directors are Joe Carnahan (The A-Team, Smokin' Aces), David Yates (a few Harry Potter films) and James McTeigue (V for Vendetta and Ninja Assassin).

What I'm more interested in is what the plot will focus on and if it'll take place in current times or instead, in the 60s like a certain other comic book movie by Fox.
