And people complain about the practicality of Power Girl's costume...

No respect for women.. They can make so many cool costumes but noooo lets just put a string here and here and "perfect"... lol, I wonder if it bothers girls that they do this in comics.

Source material people.. read it.

Why not use Evil Ernie for the promo shot on the main page, Sara? You were making upset noises about Dejah Thoris on the podcast...

Thanks for the previews! I would buy the John Carter books, but don't want that art laying around where my boy would find it. Nova Prime is right, though -- they are drawing her as Burroughs wrote her. She wore a little jewelry, period.

Absolutely love these titles. So nice to see the first storyline of Evil Ernie coming to a conclusion! And of course Dejah and Vampirella rock!

Just wanted to visit the thread and see how many were going to complain about Dejah Thoris' costume.

In the John Carter of Mars books, it is my understanding plenty of characters are scantily clad if not even nude.

The artwork shown here for Dejah Thoris is really good, and not simply because of Dejah's skimpy attire, just all around, looks great.

i won't go so far as to be talking about "no respect for women" because that's quite overreaching... and these are more of the fairly "extreme" examples of how women are depicted in comics in general. But this does get kinda crazy at times. i too get exhausted of it at times because sometimes i don't want the overly sexual stuff in this kind of entertainment.

one thing about the sexuality of females in comic is... i believe that a lot of them are designed in such suggestive ways because female sexuality IS nearly as much of a weapon as male muscles lol... though they function quite differently...
