Exclusive Preview: TEEN TITANS #8

The team may have survived their battle with N.O.W.H.E.R.E. but Red Robin will have his hands full. Except he sort of doesn't have hands anymore...

Fighting N.O.W.H.E.R.E. is what this series has been building up to since the beginning. Now that they've saved Superboy, you would think they'd get some down time to catch their breath. Obviously that isn't going to happen. Last issue ended with the team coming face to face with Harvest and the Colony.

DC has given us an exclusive preview for issue #8, on sale next Wednesday, April 25.

No, I haven't read them as I only read the books with characters I enjoy, and unfortunately most of the DC characters I really love either have yet to show up or have been put on team book that were either terrible (like Martian Manhunter in Stormwatchers and Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad) or are in a team book with such a large roster of higher ranking characters that they don't get to do enough to buy the book for their sake. Namely, Cyborg, who tho deserves very much to be on the JL, while the book has the likes of Superman, Wonder Woman, Hal Jordan and Barry Allen, poor Vic never gets much room to shine.

I'm sorry to say, but all the titles you mentioned are all about characters that I am completely indifferent about, and Two that I absolutely hate but will not name for fear of fans more rabid than I.

I DC gave Martian Manthunter, Cyborg, The Question, The Joker or the other characters I care about their own titles, I would buy them monthly until several recurrent, disappointing issues proved me wrong. The same would happen if they created a team title with 3 or four of the characters I like, but as neither of those have happened, I haven't been reading them.

Like you, I will be picking up Ravagers as it will feature one of my favorite artists and will use my absolute favorite character in the DC mythos, even tho they have made him red now (hopefully temporary) However, as he is my favorite character, I will be extra critical of Ravagers and it's treatment of him.

I get where you're coming from, but wasn't that the whole point of the New 52? For people who are unfamiliar with these characters and their mythologies to delve into them? I mean, you might be indifferent to these character, but if you picked up these titles, you might actually really like it. Heck I was indifferent to some of them, namely Wonder Woman, Swamp Thing, and Animal Man. However, now they're some of my favorite comics and I look forward to reading them every month!!

Also, I'd say that in Justice League, Cyborg gets a lot of face-time even with everyone else in the title. I'd say he's one of the most important members. He's their means of transportation and their source of data on villains. And while I haven't been reading Stormwatch, I picked up #8 in the store and from what I saw, it looked pretty damn good. I'm just saying that you should give things a chance, they might surprise you.

PS: Oh, also if you were reading Animal Man (and Swamp Thing), then you'd know why Beast Boy is now red instead of green. SPOILERS: Its because Animal Man's powers now are intimately connected with The Red, which is sort of a metaphysical embodiment of all animal life within the larger Life Web. The Green, which is a big element in Swamp Thing, is the same thing for plant life. Neither of these are new concepts because I've read that they were around before the New 52 and were even linked to both Animal Man and Swamp Thing respectively. However, now they are just more intimately connected with their respective characters. Anyway, Beast Boy's powers are now being retconned as also being connected to The Red, which is why they've changed his skin color. I can sort of see where DC's coming from with this. It would be somewhat confusing to both new and old fans if they had a character whose powers are connected to The Red in that he can shapeshift into different animals, but who runs around with green skin.

I'm really not happy with how the new 52 shows the Teen Titans...

So I think that Solstice and Bunker have great potential, I'm really missing all the stuff that happened before the new 52...

And let me not start to complain about the costumes... I mean just LOOK at Tim and Bart.....DUH!!!
