@regrivett: Same here. His original story was very lackluster. I think they were trying to make him seem mysterious, but it was too much and I just wound up not caring.

He's also kind of an awful combination of Bizarro and Zod. Not really original...and not really well written.

Except for a few hundred out of about one hundred thousand. And even then, you're missing the point; there's only a fraction of Kryptonians now compared to how many there used to be.

And even then, there is the now dated and misapplied title attributed to Superman, "The Last Son of Krypton". That seems to be where the main complaint comes from - that Supes is suppose to be the last Kryptonian. Superman hasn't been the last Kryptonian for decades. Now I could understand the concern if Kryptonians saturated the entire DCU, but they're almost entirely restricted to the Superman family.

No one ever complains that there are too many gods in Wonder Woman, or too many Bat folks in Batman titles, or even too many Flashes (most of the time). Having some Kryptonians around is perfectly fine with me.

So psyched for this! Have been wanting to see how things have worked out for H'el ever since he got back to Krypton's past!

@reactor: There were only thousands 'active' for the year or so that New Krypton ran and almost all of them were wiped out.

The New 52 has ten Kryptonians (Superman, Supergirl, Power Girl, the clone and original Superboys, Cyborg Superman, H'el, and Zod with Non and Faora. Post-Flashpoint DCU had - literally - thousands of Kryptonians, and then hundreds of them after the Hundred Minute War. Does ten really compare?

The worst villains month cover so far. All their names look like they were done in MS Paint but this one looks especially bad. Also the Ha! signature location looks even worse.

While I don't have any intention of starting to read this (either), I agree with those who feels that the DCU is getting over-satuated with Kryptonians. We have Superman, Supergirl, (1/3, or something) Superboy, Zod+2 cronies, Cyborg Supeman, H'El, Bizarro (kinda) along with a few alternate-reality Kryptonians that's active at any one point of time like Ultraman, that future son of Superman that TT is going to run into, the robot-thing and President Superman Morrison used and all those Supermen Darkseid has been killing.

So when are all these bad Supermen going to unite and take over the world in the blink of an eye?

Unlike others I like Lobdell's Superman but I really really don't care about H'el so I'm not getting this.

I'm curious to learn more about H'el however, he kind of seems like another "Zod" somewhat if you know what I mean with the whole "they chose to save Earth over Krypton blah, blah, blah"

I see hel being a clone of jor el. I mean why not? Dc loves clone story's considering superman has 3 already in the new 52...

I want to see more of Krypton so will pick up this book just for that. And If he manipulates Kara again I may stab someone.

I just don't like H'el I tried H'el on earth and I hated it I even forced myself to finish it to see if it would get any better but it didn't and now I hate H'el as a character

The New 52 is over-saturated with Kryptonians. Old 52 was too, but at least that happened over a long period of time. Here it's "Boo hoo, my planet is dead" then five minutes later "Oh wait, there's like twenty of us here! No more boo hoo!"

Being the "Last Son of Krypton" is supposed to be an important thing to Superman... And H'el is part of the problem plaguing him.

I wasn't going to get this but I liked H'El so I might pick it up. I might not either

I just haven't been a fan of Lobdell's New 52 stories. Teen Titans being the worst offender.

Seeing these 5 pages doesn't make me want to get this. I do appreciate the preview, though.

Scott Lobdell has been improving his Superman writing off late, cant say the same about his teen titans writing though :P

Awesome to see H'el get some more spotlight!

I am very, very intrigued to see what they are going to do with him, as he is not the "Rawr, rawr, must kill sh!t!" kind of villain. I wonder where his journey will lead him.

Also... I am kinda curious why they do not ditch the inverted symbol on his chest. I mean... it could have been a horrible burn scar he has from his times floating about on space or something, but everyone and their mother knows the truth behind it and DC's doubts on making him n52's Bizarro or not.
