Exclusive Preview: SECRET AVENGERS #4

Hawkeye, Nick Fury Jr, and some SHIELD Agents are in search of the Fury. It probably won't go well.

(W) Ales Kot (A) Michael Walsh (CA) Tradd Moore

"INTERNATIONAL INCIDENT"

• The Fury reappears inside the Kowloon Walled City -- which is deep inside the Chinese territory. Who you gonna call?

• No-one, but Nick Fury, Hawkeye and a bunch of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents come anyway. Problems? You bet. The Kowloon gangs want The Fury as well.

• On the Helicarrier, someone dies. The ground is not steady. Things escalate.

Love this book. Then again I've always been a sucker for the more "black ops" style teams.

@g_man: That settles it, I will buy the first trade for sure.

Its pretty clear G-Man does love this book but sadly I don't think even he can save this book.

However, Its first issue sold around 34,000 copies, issue 2 dropped 10,000 to 24,000 and almost certain it will have dropped down even further to possibly 20,000 region (may sales not released yet) which means its likely to be cancelled if doesn't make a sharp improvement soon. (after all Marvel is a business)

@rainja: As much as I appreciate pretty art like Coipel or Immonen it tends to have considerably less character than an artist like Walsh. One thing I find that's really good about Marvel at the moment is how diverse their line of comics look as opposed to DC's company wide style where the art although pretty seems rather generic & bland.

I do think Marvel are hurting a lot of their niche titles with their pricing as each month passes there are less & less $2.99 books which is a mistake IMO.
