Did you read the comics when they were first printed? Now's your chance to get them all in one nice collected package.

SAMURAI JACK has returned. This past week, IDW Publishing has released a new comic series based on the hit TV show. What some may not realize, Samurai Jack actually appeared in comics while the show was on. Now they are being collected so you don't have to try to hunt the down. The first volume is out this coming week and IDW has given us an exclusive first look.

Genndy Tartakovsky, Robbie Busch, Jim Alexander, Sholly Fisch (w) • Lynne Naylor, Mark Chiarello, Phil Moy, Dan Davis, Ricardo Garcia-Fuentes, Bill Wray (a) • Ethen Beavers (c)

Jack is back! The hit TV show turned hit comic book returns in this collection of classic Samurai Jack stories. Kicking off with Jack's origin story and continuing through the first of his "Action Pack" tales, see Jack's first battle with Aku as the events that propel the entire series unfold! It's sword-swinging, fist-pumping, vengeance-getting action at its best.

• Collects the Samurai Jack Special plus up to CN Action Pack #20.

TPB • FC • $19.99 • 132 pages • ISBN 978-1-61377-781-7

Is this trade just a repeat of what happened in season 1 of the show?

By the way,Genndy Tartakovsky was a genius

The Samurai has Returned!

I hope the creators are reading this because that show has informed who I aspire to be as an artist and so many others artists were influenced by samurai Jack.

I'll take any project they have in future!

Keep creating!

Biggest Samurai Jack Fan ever!

I didn't even know old Samurai Jack comics existed. Judging by the preview, it looks like they were based on episodes of the show. Can anyone confirm this? As much as I love Samurai Jack, I wouldn't really be interested in reading adapted versions of the episodes because I've seen them all.

@yourneighborhoodcomicgeek Thought you might be interested in this awesome news. That is, unless you have all the comics already? :P

This does look good in any case and I am tempted by the new series as well.

Frankly, I had never watched and read any episode or comic but when I saw the new series I immediately knew I would like it and then I did it. Samurai Jack and the Threads of Time is awesome. I'm definitely getting this trade, too.

I loved Samurai Jack as a kid!

...and I might even have me (or my nephew for xmas) the DVDs of the show.

This is so cool!

I only have issue one, and the new IDW issue one. Samurai Jack comics are very hard to get by! I'm so pumped up for this and the new issues rolling out! Jack is back!

The presence of outlines really makes me sad that the art doesn't look "right" compared to the show.
