Exclusive Preview: B.P.R.D.: King Of Fear #2 Preview

Dark Horse gives us an early look at the next issue.

Many thanks to Dark Horse for sharing an early exclusive look at the next issue of B.P.R.D.: King of Fear.  The first issue just came out this week.  A lot of crazy stuff went down in that issue.  You should pick it up this week if you haven't already.

As for the second issue, it will be released on February 10, 2010.  Lobster Johnson returns to the scene of his death!

Writer: Mike Mignola, John Arcudi
Artist: Guy Davis
Colorist: Dave Stewart
Cover Artist: Mike Mignola
Format: FC, 32 Pages
Price: $2.99

While Liz and Abe lead a platoon of agents and soldiers into the Hollow Earth, Kate Corrigan tries to juggle work with romance. She travels to Austria to explore the ruins of Hunte Castle -- the haunted Nazi fortress where crime fighter Lobster Johnson died and Hellboy fought the Conqueror Worm -- where she hopes to place Lobster Johnson's ghost to rest and make him free the spirit of Johann Kraus.

Really good art. I like the fine details and perspectives in the shots.

The fire just feels a bit flat though. You don't get a feeling of glow off it. Even their clothes mounted flashlights have a realistic glow.

Glad to see this, very unique art style, meshes with the Hellboy style well.    Slightly reminiscent of Kevin O'Neill.

I read the first issue this week (as my way of finally jumping in on the Hellboy universe which has interested me for quite sometime) and although I wouldn't say it was a completely smooth jump in (I have no idea what "frogs" are...or maybe I do and just can't place the name with anything other then the animal when I read it, were they mentioned in the movies?) I am excited for issue 2 and want to see where this is going
