EXCLUSIVE: 'Justice League International' #2 4-Page Preview

Does Booster Gold prove to be a good leader, or will he fail his first mission?

Generally when superhero teams are formed its because the members want it to happen, not because they are deceived into joining. Unless of course it's the Justice League International; in which case, the latter is exactly what happened. Led by Booster Gold, Justice League International is a multi-racial superhero team recruited and controlled by the United Nations -- meaning this superhero team, unlike the Justice League, is one of the first to be operated and organized by a an intergovernmental organization (IGO). So, while Booster may be leading a team, he still has to answer to a higher power. Talk about pressure!

The first issue not only introduced us to all the team's characters, it also gave readers a glimpse at their interactions with one another and how they will get along (or won't) as a team. Additionally, while Booster may be brave enough to slap his mug onto anything that will make him money (except of course male diapers), that doesn't mean he's completely comfortable leading a new team. In the upcoming issue of Justice League International #2 readers will witness first hand just how reluctant Booster really is, as he second guesses himself when the U.N. sends him and his teammates on their first mission. What will happen? What will the pressures be like for Booster and Co.? Will they succeed?

DC Comics has given Comic Vine an exclusive first look at the second issue which is set to hit stands on October 5th, 2011. Find what it means for Booster to be on a team and judge for yourself whether he's got his priorities straight! Check out the full 4-page preview below and let us know if you plan on picking up issue #2 of Justice League International on October 5th?

I already loved issue 1. Looks like number 2 shouldn't be disappointing
oh and FIRST

GOSH.... No pressure!!!

I also really liked issue 1.

Has a very Giant Sized X-Men #1 feel to it. Team of super powered adults with their own agendas and unclear abilities brought together by a somewhat shady dude to accomplish his own questionable agenda.

Well this title is one of my holds so of course I'll get it. But I like what I'm seeing from these panels so far. I always have enjoyed stories where superheroes struggle in the line of duty. Makes their road to greatness all the more worthy in my opinion. I'll be interested to see how Carter takes to leading the JLI though, for I'm definitely not used to seeing him in a commanding capacity, especially since he still answers to a higher power in this collective security arrangement.

It looks great! Booster Gold's new suit is Awesome!

I like the conversation between Batman and Booster...

You don't even know your team's capabilities

I GOT ISSUE 1 AND WAS DISAPOINTED. THIS ISSUE LOOKS BETTER.

Pfft. like Batman's gonna run from some robot. He went back robot-repellant-ed that thing off panel.

I'm psyched for #2! Booster has a lot to deal with, but I'm sure he'll work it out.

Looks pretty good.

Reminds me of the classic X-Men stories :) I'll probably buy this.

This looks much better than issue #1.
Whe Batman tells you to sit down, YOU.SIT.DOWN.

I like how Batman is being so supportive here.

I oughta pick this up sometime.

I've never been a fan of JLI but this second issue doesnt look terrible

Lopresti's art has improved drastically!

I like Booster Gold's new design.

It's like an amalgam of Buck's Captain America suit combined with Justice (Vance Astrovic).

huh, this may make me pick up the second issue. It kinda made me warm up to Booster a bit and I hate him.

I loved the first issue so I'm really excited to read this one. I can't wait for it to be released next week!

By the way, I'm glad that Batman has taken a back seat and has become sort of a mentor to Booster. Their interactions with one another are great and I hope to see more.

not bad

I personally love Booster's new look! Canadians! :)

I figured out one of the reasons I hate Booster's redesign!

Almost every other hero got a costume that looked more modern. From spandex and speedos to more shirt/pants (armor-esque or not). Booster went the other way around. He had the blue top, gold pants look before, and now he's wearing a spandex onesie. That and the blue accent line W around his neck looks stupid.

But everyone wants to know when we're gonna get the ONE PUNCH! :)

So is this JLI from square 1? Or does it tie into the past stories by Giffen and Maguire?

I know now that, I think, Teen Titans is the first time this team is together but not the first time there was a Teen Titans, I think. And all of the stuff from GL happened like Blackest Night and etc. All the stuff from Batman happened like him dying and coming back and Damien. Everything from Hawk and Dove except for Monarch happened. And I think everything from Flash except things involving Iris happened. Does anyone know if this JLI ties into past JLI stuff or is it new here like there was never a JLI before and Max Lord never was there and neither was Ted Kord?

Booster Gold is awesome.

Justice League International vs. a sentinel? :P

I admit this is the book that gives me most hope (I haven't had the chance to read JLD)

Posted by cagedleo730

@ArtisticNeedham: So far it looks like a completely new and independent from previous continuity version.

Posted by Skaddix

Yep Booster is a failure what a surprise

Posted by Eyz

Loving the character's interaction, Booster as leader, etc..

Throw in some reference to the past JLI and I'm all set!

(YES it seems to completely erase the original book BUT I won't believe it until explicitly said story-wise)

Can't wait to see more of IL!!

I like that they show that Booster is a true and serious hero. He may be in it for the glory, but at the heart of it all he's a hero to the end. Seeing him under so much stress and pressure only to make the hard decision in the end, perfect! ^_^

Blarg! Booster Gold is annoying!
