Man oh man, check out that art. Things are getting pretty insane in the pages of X-O MANOWAR. Armor Wars is almost here.

X-O MANOWAR #24

PRELUDE TO ARMOR HUNTERS – PART 2! Who – or what – is the man called MALGAM?

Aric of Dacia, a fifth-century warrior bonded to alien armor and transplanted to the modern day, is now the most important weapon in the arsenal of M.E.R.O., the top-secret American intelligence organization that monitors extraterrestrial life on Earth. In order to protect his people, Aric must undergo dangerous missions in space, but nothing can prepare him for the stunning secret that awaits him in the stars. The march toward X-O Manowar #25 – and the coming of the ARMOR HUNTERS – continues here in an essential prelude to the Valiant Universe event of 2014!

Oh Aric. How you have changed since your first issue...

That is some fantastic art!

I'll put money on this being better than all the Marvel and DC events of the past decade.

...well, maybe not Annihilation.

I am definitely happy to see the change in the character. It's nice to see the character grow and not fall into a predictable pattern of rushing in headfirst without the proper forethought and then trying to correct his mistakes after putting himself in a bad way over and over again.

Yea as long as he keeps his warriors spirit but he's just not stupid about it

WOW! That art is spectacular! How does Valiant get this talent? I really like how far Aric's come since his headstrong, headfirst Visigoth days. I guess going up against the Unity team and having his people back has really made him rethink his place in the world. I love Valiant and I'm excited to see this universe continue its fantastic growth.

I dig it! Like the direction, and the possibilities.

SO part 1 comes out in march right? I am excited for this.

@hawkguy: Reminds me some of cinematic Thor. How he is far more humble then when we first see him, and as stated..dat art!

@hawkguy: They get this talent because the artists/writers want to be there. Think about it; all of these guys grew up reading comics in the 90's; they read all of the original, non gold key, characters and fell in love with them. With Valiants relaunch, which is now better than the big two, you have all the creative teams that are more than happy to jump on these characters to give them a new look, a refined story, and continue their legacy. Have you checked out the other Valiant titles?

Wow, Aric's not much of a hot head anymore

Did you read Harbinger Wars? It got like 12 votes in the Best Event of 2013 poll but was better than Forever Evil and Infinity, by far.

Unity also epic so...

great prediction.

I didn't, because it happened before I started reading Valiant.

And I have to keep myself on a low budget for comics (I try to stay under 30 dollars a month).

@dman1366: I read them all! They're my favorite titles on a monthly basis, and they really impress me every step of the way. Valiant has become my favorite publisher and they're clearly the ideal when it comes to the editorial process. You're right, the creative teams definitely love writing these titles and it definitely shows.

@hawkguy: I agree, i'm following valiant as they are easy to follow and it's a great getaway from Marvel & DC as they are repetitive and i need something different, modern and fresh. So far, i have read and collected in trades Harbinger (my personal favourite) Archer & Armstrong, Bloodshot, X-O Manowar, Eternal Warrior, Quantum and Woody (Woody is an asshole) and soon Shadowman. I hope they would add more diversity in their titles as it would reflect the 21st century, but i'm happy they have an overweight character who can fly (Zephyr) and a disabled teen who can create a psionic body with great strength and durability (Torque).
