Exclusive: DREAM POLICE Character Sketches

The Dream Police are returning courtesy of Joe's Comics and Image.

This year at Image Expo, one announcement got me really excited. J. Michael Straczynski is bringing DREAM POLICE back through Joe's Comics and Image.

DREAM POLICE was a one-shot comic released in 2005 through Marvel's Icon imprint. Written by JMS, it featured art by Mike Deodato Jr. There was just something really cool about it and I was bummed it was only one issue.

DREAM POLICE deals with Dream Police Detectives Joe Thursday and Frank Sanford. Their job is to patrol the dreamscape. They've been partners as long as they can remember until one day Frank disappears. A woman comes along claiming to be Joe's partner and that she always has been.

This time around, the art will be handled by Sid Kotian. We've been given an exclusive first look at some of Sid's character sketches to whet our appetite until the book comes out.

DREAM POLICE #1 is on sale April 30 with a $2.99 price tag. Make sure you let your comic shop know you want a copy.

Cannot wait for this series. The only book JMS has done in the past year that I didn't like was Protector's Inc. After reading the preview and seeing these character sketches I'm more sold on it than I was before.

Yeah those three books are great! I'm also really enjoying Apocalypse Al and Terminator Salvation: The Final Battle. I wanted to like Protector's Inc. but I cut it after 3 issues. I may pick it up in trade though.

@g_man: Did I just see a Jawa in a Image book that's not from Star Wars? lol

Don't have the room in my pull list for anything else, but I may track down that original one shot. The Deodato art is a big selling point for me.
