I had the same reaction. It's looks very Dark Knight Returns-esque. I think it's Batman's pose.

Same thing here. Maybe it was supposed to be a tribute

@bsavelli: Thanks for posting the art. I couldn't figure out the exact scene from DKR it reminded me of. It is interesting how much that looks like the same pose from a different angle. I'm not complaining. I think it's a great cover.

While I am curious to see how Batwing is because I feel like with the correct writer it could be really interesting. Where is more dangerous than Gotham? Africa will give them a run for their money on outright danger. Not as many villains, yet? Batwing costume is okay. No wings? Don't like that. Batwing is David Zavimbe. So hopefully Gray & Palmiotti do a good job of fleshing David out rather than killing him off or completely changing the character. I thought Fabian Niciea did a decent job depending on how his arc ends. His dialogue was a little different then what I was use to, but still good. Love the Batman series, but not reading all this for Catwoman. Detective started out decent with Layman. League of Smiles was kinda of boring. Mad Hatter first issue was okay in TDK. Really curious to see what Snyder does with the scope of Superman & relationship between him & Bruce.

These all look great. Definitely excited. The ones that look most interesting to me are Batman, Batwing, and RHATO (both the annual and #20).

When I saw the cover to 'Tec, my first thought was "since when did Beast cross over from Marvel?"

On a side note: I really like Starfire's new look.

I agree with you

Couldn't disagree more. It's even more revealing/less practical than the look she first sported in this book, and a massive step backwards from her armor suit in terms of respecting her.

Dude, Starfire's costume has always been incredible revealing and impractical. The original Perez look was by no means conservative and even her costume in the Teen Titans animated series would be considered overly sexual by some standards. I'm not saying that she's just a sex object, but seriously, her look has never been what one would consider modest.

@Zeeguy91: That's my point. New 52 was a chance to be a bit more progressive. And they gave her a sweet-looking costume that had an excuse behind it (she was a revered captain). For the first time she had a modest outfit that made sense from a narrative and combat perspective. I'm disappointed to see them now regressing back to the status quo portrayal of her.

Me too. It'll be really sad if they kill Damien and introduce JPV back in because if they kill Damien (Snyder or Morrison) I fcking quit. I'm sorry, I've invested what(?) 3 years now(?) into this character and grown quite fond of him. This would be such a stupid thing for DC to do. Even if it's Morrison to pull the trigger (because he created him and all) in some fantastical way, i just will not have it.

Also.....

Batman 20 looks like Clayface is involved. Detective Comics Emperor Penguin storyline is interesting. When the cover to Issue 13 was released and it mentioned Emperor Penguin, I thought Penguin decided to call himself Emperor. That's not the case so I liked the idea of it being someone else. The Dark Knight covers looks cool. I wonder what will happen after the Mad Hatter story. Batman and Robin and Batman Incorporated looks like they'll be connected. The covers look amazing. As I said yesterday Batwing 20 cover looks awesome. So is this a new Batwing? I need to catch up. The Batgirl cover looks a tad bit creepy and Batwoman looks interesting. I'm wondering who the person behind Nightwing is. Red Hood and the Outlaws looks like it will be about Roy so this will be interesting. Talon looks like he's been through hell.

I notice in a number of covers have hinted that recent events have put characters on the edge and it requires another member of the Bat family to bring them back.
