Everything Wrong with 2012's Comic Book Movies

Did The Dark Knight Rises,The Avengers or The Amazing Spider-Man have more "flaws?"

Regardless of which one is your favorite, there's no denying this year was an awesome cinematic experience for comic fans. Marvel's The Avengers, The Dark Knight Rises, The Amazing Spider-Man, Dredd... there was something for all of us to enjoy.  After the likes of Green Lantern in 2011, this year was certainly one to appreciate.

But as expected, this also brought a dark cloud over our community. The trio of big movies divided many comic book fans as they picked their favorite and attempted to cite why it was superior (sorry, Parker, poor choice of words) to the others. Well, a Youtube account called "CinemaSins" has popped up and made 3 hilarious videos pointing out "everything wrong" with this year's big 3 CBMs.

Remember, a fair amount of these "flaws" are just thrown in for comedic value. No matter what I say, a discussion on which movie was "the best" or "the worst" is bound to break out. Please keep the conversation friendly or not even Odin will be able to save you from the ban hammer.

Uhm, I thought Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance was 2012 movie?

Posted by Dark_Vengeance_

That was awesome!

In my eyes Dark Knight Rises was one of the worst movies this year.
Why, you ask? Well, Kevin Smith covers it up and I felt basically the same about the entire movie:

@modunhanul: Fixed and thanks. I guess my memory just wanted to push it even further into the past.

How is Peter Parker on a skateboard not a failure?

Posted by KnightRise

Never noticed that the Chitauri never actually hurt any civillians

Posted by Smart_Dork_Dude

Yeah I don't really care about the flaws of Avengers and Amazing Spider-Man because I love both those movies. However I didn't exactly care for Rises and most of the things wrong that were listed about it were my gripes in general about it so....

Posted by UltraBiel

How is the Chiatauri hurting people relevant anyway???

As said in the OP, this year was orgasmicly good for comic fans in the movie department.

I enjoyed almost if not all comic book movies this year, excluding maybe Ghost Rider, which was a 2012 movie, wasnt it?

Anyway, i thought The Avengers was the superior movie anno 2012, followed by the Dark Knight Rises.

Posted by Omega Ray Jay

The only one I had big problems with was Rises, just so many holes.

Posted by iancoderre3

@modunhanul: Yeah, that movie straight up sucked though, so theres no point in having it on here.

Well now I am going to have to subscribe to these people

Yeah I know but I dont think these are really meant to be taken seriously at least not all of them.

i noticed a lot of the Batman ones, chief among them was the day and night tunnel. more of the Spiderman ones are nit picky and can be assumed away, like the rubix cube. i like the last one for Avengers, i had no clue there would be 2 scenes

They cant put on a hour and a half video on.

The funny thing is that the Avengers and Spider-man clips are extremely nit-picky where as the dark knight rises problems are mostly major flaws. That would be because out of the three TDKR was terrible and the others were good.

Posted by jorok_goldblade

The one issue I took with Amazing Spider-Man was the mishandling of Uncle Ben's death. Not giving Peter the moment where he catches the killer and realizes that acting responsibly earlier could have prevented Ben's murder undermines the "With Great Power there must Also Come Great Responsibility" theme and replaces it with a revenge theme.

Posted by Deformity

The Avengers was almost a perfect CBM.

TASM was overly glossy and the new suit was a bit distracting in some shots.

I did not care for TDKR in any way, shape or form.

GR:SOV is not even worth talking about.

Posted by knightofthechronicle

I didn't know Avengers had two ending credit scenes. :(

Posted by butters911

I was really disappointed in TDKR. Loved Amazing and Avengers though

Edited by theTimeStreamer

i'm sorry but there is no PERFECT MOVIE so all this nit-picking person is doing is wasting your time.

I honestly don't find these funny. This is not criticism and not humor just because he speaks fast and uses curse words. This is basically just a video list of mistakes by the crew and plotholes. It's pretty much moviemistakes.com on video.

Posted by Mucklefluga

Haha this was hilarious. The ASM one made me laugh so much.

Overall i think The Dark Knight Rises was the best film out of the 3. ASM was very average to me, 6/10

I really shouldn't ever watch things like this. People who ruin things are jerks. Just watch the movie.

Comprehension fail on 2:22 for the TDKR one. Tate/Talia tells them to tag the wrong truck, which is why when they open the truck there's no bomb. There are some other things but whatevs... Some of it is funny.

Posted by Gotham331

I liked Avengers and loved TDKR. But TASM..eh. Still, I found the videos hilarious!

The only thing I did not like about the Avengers was how weak they made Thor look. Thor should have been lightning nuking half the alien fleet in the movie,  there was nothing close to that epic thunder clap he did in his own movie against the frost giants. Tsk, Tsk, Tsk

@knightofthechronicle: The second one was just them sitting and eating shawarma. You can find it on youtube.

Posted by Zeeguy91

I found that a lot of the complaints they made with TDKR made no sense and were actually explained in the movie (at least to anyone who was paying attention). For example, Blake knew where to go to find Gordon because he had been on the scene when another body washed up there. He guessed that would be where Gordon would end up and it turned out he was right. I also had a problem with Blake automatically knowing who Bruce was, but eh...it overlook-able.

Other than that...nipple bed? And WTF, DC Comics is a flaw? This was obviously made by idiots who don't even read comics.

Posted by Zeeguy91

Even I have to admit, though. These are pretty f-ing hilarious.

Posted by CBninja

That was hilarious.

Wow they have like only three videos in this account and they already have more than 20000 subscribers.

Posted by Mrfuzzynutz

I do love those moments in movies you never notice while wathching it, like the random guys falling down, and the magic skateboard haha

But overall I think Spider-Man was the "worst" due to it being such a departure from the characters...Taking off his mask so many times, no bruce campell, doing away with "Great responsibility blah blah"

And I think between Spider-man and Bane we learned that we cannot block a actors mouth when thare saying their lines, you almost have to add the voices in post production to make it work

Posted by x_29

Honest trailers did it better.

Posted by Teerack

These videos weren't very funny. there are much better videos making fun of the whole with these movies. Half of the points this guy made could be taken as wholes to people that struggle with common sense.

Lame. Haha Genius though.

Posted by Mr_Athrilla

@Zeeguy91: Still what are the odds of Gorden washing up at the same location as that kid? As that Bane henchmen said he could of ended up anywhere.

Posted by JediXMan

Those were great! These guys need to make more videos.

I was hoping that these videos would have been more about where the movies fell away from the comic canon. Alas, that would have been a better post. (But, I assume that it is rather obvious to must of us.)

This was a GREAT year for me movie wise. I got library copies of Thor and Captain America to watch right before I went to see Avengers in theaters, so I could get in the mood.

Thor was so perfect! I just did not see any flaw in it.

Captain America cleared up a LOT of issues I had with the Marvel Cinematic universe and Chris Evans was just amazing.

THEN, Dad and I went to see the Avengers, and I could not articulate any words for about a half-hour, it was that mind blowing, freaking AWESOME!!!

Marvel may be ticking me off in their comics, but their movies are beautiful!

Posted by zombietag

this was a lot stupider than i thought it was going to be.

i thought it was going to be differences from the comics or something, but instead its just dumb opinions. whatever, its a movie theres always some silly things. some of those arent even facts, theyre literally just opinions.

Mistake #1 it was made

Almost every issue I've heard people bring up about Avengers has been nit picky BS or people being mad that it wasn't Batman

Marvel loves making Thor weak. Did you not see Avengers:EMH?
