Emmy Rossum Is Interested In Neil Gaiman's Death

She's interested in the comic book character, that is.

Let me just clarify, Emmy Rossum is not wishing that Neil Gaiman dies.  No one wants that.  She's interested in his beloved version of DEATH, sister to Dream (from the Sandman comic).

When I first saw this post, I started getting excited that a movie based on Death was finally going to happen.  MTV recently spoke to Rossum, she mentioned that she was really into Neil Gaiman's "Black Orchid" and "Death."  She mentioned that both were being considered to be adapted.

When she was asked if she attempted to contact Gaiman, she simply said, "I love Neil Gaiman. I think he's a genius. Let's leave it at that."

Not much to go on.  Let's hope that a Death movie (or Black Orchid) will get made.

Do you think she could capture the character of Gaiman's Death?

Sandman movie? Oh gawd.

Yeah, I don't know how I'd feel about a Death movie... I'm afraid of Neil's work being translated to the screen.

I don't see how they could make a movie about death... If they find a way I'm all for it, but come on, she's not even a main character in a book. A sandman movie is more likely.

On a side note, yeah, she's hawt...

Death had 2 minis, and is a character that would be MUCH more easily translated onto the big screen than Morpheus. I think it would be fairly easy to make a Death movie, actually. I'm just not so sure it would be easy to make it a good movie.

Well the Coraline adaptation was quite well received. I haven't watched it myself so I can't say.

WOW.....shes seriously hot. And DAMN her as Death would be sexy as hell in all that black mmmmm.

So Black Orchid or Death movies would be awesome cause their both awesome comics an Deaths an awesome character

Ok first i freaked out when i saw this post. SHE WOULD BE GREAT AS DEATH!!!! She is both cute and has that lovable childlike characteristic that death has. But i like other here worry about Gaiman's work being transferred to the big screen and getting slughtered. Lest we not forget "STARDUST"!  Very cautionary tale. But that being said if they do "Death: The High Cost of Living" I think she would be great casting!

she cute enough for the role!!

Um...YEAH!!!

What happend to "Death and Me"? See Death the high cost of living on wikipedia.

wow, I almost had a heartattack when I read the title...though Neil Gaiman had died :O

but yeah, I agree with Korg on this

We already have a Death, who can actually act:

Ok, after reading some more of Death, i decided to take my hand at a bit of photomanipulation to see what exactly Emily Rossum would look like as death...

If they can capture that look in the movie, then this will definitely be a hit... now i can't imagine anyone else doing Death justice...

not bad Methos.

Oh noez.. She's too sprightly and youthful.. Death needs more Zoey

I second captainrage.

god no...

i seriously can't see Zoe Deschanel in the role...

Emmy would be perfect, she has an inner darkness but is still perky enough to pull off Neil Gaiman's Death

Also, she's a huge Death fan, so we know it'll be faithful to the character

Pft. Emmy is so bland. She's pretty but not interesting.. Everything I've seen her in has been utterly forgettable.. What was she in?

that sounds cool

Appearances aside, which seems to fit, She must also manage to embody the complex personality of Death.. Death can be fickle as a young prepubescent girl one moment, and then surprise the heck outta everyone by being the most mature out of the whole family of eternals. She's both ageless and bound in age. So outta all the eternals she would be the most difficult to truly embody.

Sorry, kids. I'm writing in Mila Kunis for this one.
