Elden Henson Signs on for Marvel's Daredevil

Marvel signs on Elden Henson as a very recognizable character in the new Netflix series.

Marvel announced today that actor Elden Henson has signed on to the 2015 Daredevil series, appearing on Netflix. He will be playing none other than Foggy Nelson, Matt Murdock's law partner and best friend.

Henson is known for his work in the films The Hunger Games, Mighty Ducks, and The Butterfly Effect. He will working with Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock, Vincent D'Onofrio as Wilson Fisk, and Rosario Dawson as an unnamed character.

“Elden plays one of the most important characters in the world of 'Marvel’s Daredevil,' and we’re thrilled to see Foggy Nelson brought to life by such an incredibly talented actor,” said Jeph Loeb, Marvel’s Head of Television. “He perfectly captures the heart and soul of this series, bringing an added resonance to Matt Murdock’s fight against the injustice in their great city."

Henson really has the look of the character and has shown in the past he has the ability to play this character. This is just another really solid addition to this already stacked cast. The 13-episode season will appear on Netflix in 2015.

Funny how they say that he's "known" for his work in the Hunger Games series. I looked him up, and the character he's playing is in the movies that aren't actually out yet.

So perhaps people in the industry know his Hunger Games work, but I sure as hell don't.

I do remember him from The Butterfly Effect though.

The first movie of his I thought of was "She's All That," lol

"Matt Murdock’s fight against the injustice in their great city"

That's got to be the most information we've gotten so far about the actual plot.

@wardishy: how can you not have seen The Mighty Ducks? That's like not ever having heard of Jurassic Park or something. GET ON IT, SON!

Posted by Wardishy

@manlybanister: Yeah, yeah, alright, I got it guys. :)

Actually, I have a confession to make... I can't remember if I've seen the first Jurassic Park all the way through to the end or not.

Great cast. Hope he can act.

@wardishy: I find this very funny because you know a song from the 60's or 70's whatever year it came from, but you don't Mighty Ducks which it came in the 90's, lol. It even had it's own animated series that had nothing to do with movie even though they were both made from Disney and had hockey gear. Well futuristic hockey gear that is, lol.

Wow the cheesiest line I ever heard "They put criminals on ICE!" Lol, 90's the era that everything was EXTREME!

@iceslick: Yeah, I'm weird like that. Some references I get, some I really don't.

Perhaps it's a cultural thing though? I mean I've never even heard of The Mighty Ducks, but maybe it wasn't as heard of in the UK or something? I don't think anybody in the UK even plays hockey.

Posted by manlybanister

@wardishy: oh you're BRITISH. It all makes sense now. I don't know how to skate and I'm Canadian, but The Mighty Ducks - and Jurassic Park - were still a pretty big deal growing up.

Edited by iceslick

@wardishy: Oh never mind of course you wouldn't know Mighty Ducks if you're from the UK. It's pretty believable and I'm not sure they ever aired any of that stuff on TV or movie theaters over there. By the way, it really isn't worth watching now than it was back then, you're really not missing much. It's a pretty terrible franchise and people are blinded by childhood nostalgia because everything is awesome with you're 8! Lol Even South Park made a parody episode on how horrible that movie is! XD

I'm from the UK and I know the Mighty Ducks and Jurassic Park!!!!!!!!

Now where's my cookie?

Dude I'm from Scotland and I love the Mighty Ducks, the films have even been on tv.

@manlybanister: Jurassic Park was a big film when I was growing up too, but I've never been very in-touch with the cultural zeitgeist. :) My big sports film as a kid was Space Jam. I loved that film SO HARD.

@iceslick: apparently it was aired! I must have missed it. I don't remember anyone else my age knowing of or talking about it though.

@fullmetaladam @jonny_anonymous: alright, you guys win. :)
